I haven't been around for a couple of days, because I had an accident on Friday night with my cat.
I was driving home and reversing on the driveway. I didn't see him dart out from behind a car on next doors driveway. I went straight over him. The sound was awful.
I panicked and ran back to see the extent of the damage. At first I was quite calm, then when the blood starting flowing and Fraggle began to cry I started crying. I rang my dad and DH to tell them what had happened and I rushed him to the vets. I don't know how I got there in one piece I was driving like a loon!
I got him there and he was hyperventilating the vet rushed him into the oxygen tent and said that if he could get through the first 24 hours then the signs would be good. So we left him behind at the vets and waited by the phone.
The vet rang us two hours later and said that he had stableised and was breathing more steadily on his own. They said to ring back in the morning.
We rang back in the morning and they said that he was out of the intensive care unit and was breathing on his own and was still stable.
He had three x-rays yesterday and they said that he has got a cut chin and a hole in the roof of his mouth. They don't think that they will have to pin the jaw as it has cracked and should fuse back together on it's own.
I will talk to the vets later on today and see what the score is. He should be allowed home at some point this week, as long as everything goes ok.
I will keep you all posted.
Thanks for listening.
