I just checked out the LTT's new kid's menu which I found on AllEarsNet. It has just been updated... and, drastically, changed from the old "kid-friendly" items from before. Take a look. Yuk! Bleech! My kid's are not going to like it, now, I fear. Looks WAY to healthy for them. Anyone tried it yet? Or just checked it out on that site and have an opinion. We like to have lunch there... but I don't know about it on our next trip, now.

I'm not sure there's a way to make people happy here. There are TONS of posts on this board about how horrible the kids menus are - nothing but chicken strips, PB&J, etc. People complain constantly about how boring and unhealthy the majority of kids menus are at Disney. Now, LTT has done something about it and created something different - and people are going to complain about it to. :confused3 I guess it would be nice if they could have kept one more "standard" kid item or two. I really think the menu sounds great, though.

I know my little guy would eat several of the things on the menu. He would especially love this one -

"Just Dip It" - Assorted fruits, vegetables, chicken salad, hummus, and light strawberry yogurt served with baked whole wheat pita chips. $6.99

Of course, all kids are different in their tastes. I don't know how old/big your kids are, but maybe they could split a hamburger or sandwhich off the adult menu?

That is a very healthy menu! While I think it is good to have a healthy and different menu for adventurous eaters, a couple of stand-bys should be on a kid's menu.

I think the menu looks great - so much of the food at Disney is chicken fingers for kids, so I'm glad to see other options. They do have beef and macaroni - whole wheat I think, which is tasty.

When I was a kid, eating stuff like chicken fingers was a treat, it wasn't an everyday thing - that food is more like what I'd normally eat (not hummus, but we did eat veggies and meat every day). And if you don't like that for the kids, you could get them an entree of turkey or something similar.

I thought I had read that this was a "test" menu? :confused3

Wow, I think that menu looks like a great alternative to the usual kids meal offerings. :)

Oh... I DON'T disagree with you all. It's healthy and it's what they would be eating at home. But... it's just not VACATION/eating out food. When they're at a restaurant... they like to choose and order their own food. And I think that's fair. I don't mind the "better" choices on a new menu... I would like to see a burger and fries or chicken fingers and fries, too. Something like that. Know what I mean? And... ordering the big burger and cutting it down the middle doesn't do it for them. They like smaller, flatter kiddy burgers... AND their own bun. However, the turkey dinner or something might work well. Oh well... I'm just a little bummed 'cause I REALLY like to go there and get the salad for lunch.

I like it. It's a step in the right direction, IMO. :thumbsup2

"Just Dip It" - Assorted fruits, vegetables, chicken salad, hummus, and light strawberry yogurt served with baked whole wheat pita chips. $6.99

Beef and Macaroni - Whole wheat macaroni, ground beef, marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese served with green beans, baby carrots, and fruit salad. $6.99

Tasty Tofu - Seasoned tofu with whole grain pilaf, broccoli, baby carrots served with fruit salad and milk. $6.99

Deconstructed Vegetarian Quesadilla Refried beans, corn, cheese dip and baked whole wheat tortilla chips served with lettuce, salsa, sour cream and cinnamon sugar apples. $6.99

Pita Pizza Whole wheat pita topped with diced chicken and mozzarella cheese served with Cinnamon Sugar Apples and Shredded Vegetable Salad. $6.99

Grilled Mahi Mahi - Mahi mahi, pineapple salsa, brown sugar sweet potato sticks, and green beans served with yogurt parfait. $6.99

Though I'm glad to see a healthier menu I wish they could mix it up a little. My daughter would probably love the "just dip it" but sometimes she'd rather have chicken fingers or a hot dog. I think it would make everyone happy if they had traditional kid stuff and the heathier kid stuff as well.

Healthy alternatives are great but what about a few stand bys for the "not so adventurous eaters" - like my three. If we were eating there I would probably order them some appetizers, like the mozzarella sticks - or ask if they could make kid sized burgers. We do the dinner instead - they love turkey, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, etc.

I had just noticed the menu, too! No kids, but we're all vegetarians and I'm always curious what's on the kids' menu. I have to say, when I saw the menu, I wondered if I could order off the kids' menu...it looks delicious to me! Vacation is a great time to try something different...tofu! YUM!

I know that is all very healthy but the menu went from one extreme to another. I agree that there needs to be some sort of mix. The old standbys like macaroni and cheese, hot dog, hamburger for the picky eaters. My son would starve with a menu like that. I'm with 1000th Haunt...just doesn't seem like vacation food....more like something you would find in a Yogurt Shop. Ahh but that is what the Dis is all about. Something for everyone.

I also think there could be a middle ground...however, why haven't they updated the regular menu with additional similar, healthy alternatives as well? Some of the items on the kids menu look good, although, I'm kind of stumped by the inclusion of cinnamon apples on pizza and quesadillas...seems weird...
one other thought is that none of these new menu items really fit in with the 'theme' of the restaurant...

I checked out the menu and showed my 10 and 8 yr olds. The only thing both of them said they wouldnt touch is the Tofu. (I wouldnt touch it either)I can also understand wanting some "regular" kids fare on the menus, but I dont want my kids to live on burgers, chicken strips and fries all week. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I ate there in late Sept and hated it! I wished I had the kids' menu.

I do not know *ANY* child who would eat 90% of those things on the menu.

I think the kids' menu looks great.Three of my children would eat off of it and the oldest that wouldn't is an "adult" anyway. We are going to eat there for dinner though-we all LOVED it. :thumbsup2

There are so many choices for restaurants, and this wouldn't apply to the character dinner-- just lunch. So, if you have kids who would like this food, or you would like them to try something different, or healthier, then this is a good choice. If the kids wouldn't like it, then why not just pick one of the hundreds of other restaurant choices?? It's only one restaurant.

Obviously, there's other places to eat. But... it was one of our favourite TS for lunch in the MK! For the location, food and atmosphere. I liked to get the Colony Salad and DH the Tri-Corner... both very good. AND... the kids loved the burgers they had on the old kids menu. They WERE pretty tasty for kids' meals. I'm just SURPRISED, that's all, at the DRASTIC change in their menu. And by not leaving at least one old standby on... that's all. Especially because the regular Adult lunch menu appears to the the same old, same old. That's all. But... we probably will return for lunch next trip... just order two adult turkey platters for the three of them to split.

Me too. My kids would love the Mahi Mahi. They like sweet potato "fries" at home and yogurt.
