Bad News from my local Disney Store

I just called the my Local Disney store in Ross Park Mall, and I asked them if they had any info about the new pins that will be coming out. The CM I talked to told me that she heard at meeting that her store MAY not be selling the new 100 years pin set! Are only select stores getting the set? This kind of bummed me out because the next closest Disney Store is a half hour away.
Bummer! I am hoping they do get them though.

wow, 1/2 hour seems like nothing considering I drive 1200 miles to get pins when I go to WDW. And I have driven to WDW 4 times this year.
I have two TDS near me, both about 20 min away, and I spoke to both managers who know nothing about the pins. I may have to drive to the next closest mall which is 1 hour away. Oh well, anything for pins.
And I learned my lesson, as I know Mickey7811 is learning now. Buy all TDS pins when they come out. I just completed my set of the Countdown pins, I don't want to miss out and kick myself again later. Peggie

I am most likely going to collect the whole set too, but I am afraid I will have to sell one of my kidneys for pin money! 1200 miles is a long way, but I will be doing about the same in 7 days. 17 hours straight through to WDW. We are only stopping for bathroom brakes!

I am wondering if our store will sell the pins too. I think I am the only pin collector in Omaha.
One of our stores sells the collectables, but the CM there told me that was being pulled away from them.

Hi Matt,

Hope the CM at Ross Park is wrong. That's where I had planned to purchase the pins, too. Since they carried the millennium pins I never thought about the possibility that they wouldn't carry the 100 Years pins. Have a good trip to WDW. We'll be leaving the 3rd for our 17 hour trek. We've traded in the past so hope to meet you at the event.

Peggie, you drive that far, that often!! Gee gal, how long does it take you to drive to Orlando? Where do you stop for breaks?

Gee, I have two DS within a half hour's drive from my house! Sorry to hear that some of you live so far from them.

It would not surprise me if they changed their mind regarding the sale of pins. Disney knows you spend more money in the parks anyhow, and the stores have not been sources of assets lately..

Well as far I know our store will be carrying them. We are a gallery store maybe that is why. At any rate ask to see if you can order them. The bad news is that they tack on $1.00 for every item shipped plus shipping charges.
I don't even know if they will ship them I will try to find out.

as the Japan Disney Store 100 years set? Lots of us have been trading to get the LE 5000 of each set from Japan, and a few of us have been wondering about that. If it is the same set, we will have already gotten most of them in trades. Does anyone know if this might be true? We were hoping it would be an entirely different set, but look what happened with the other TDS pins that matched JDS, or are being sold right now at all 3 resorts TDL, DLR, and WDW. If it is anything like that set, that would explain why not all TDS are getting them. Any ideas or anyone who has heard anything like that?

Hi All..

I have not been around in a while, but I can answer your questions about the Disney Store 100 Years of Walt Disney's Dream Pin Collection.

First of all, great information can be found at... Disney Store Pin Information

The pins will range in price from $4.00 to $5.00 with the exception of the last pin, which will be $8.00. There will be NO limit on the pins you can purchase at any one time, with the exception of the last pin, which will be a limit of 2 per person.

As far as my understanding of the pin collection is, ALL Disney Stores in North America will be releasing these pins.

Dizpins will be previewing these pins, starting tonight, and every friday. We previously previewed a pin of Atlantis, which can be found in the June Archives.

The pins will be totally different than the Japan DS pins.

I'm confused also-I was in a Disney Store yesterday (near Dallas) and spoke with the manager. She had not heard anything about the pins, and she said she was quite sure that if they were coming out in September "We would have heard something by now."

They expire at the end of SEPTEMBER



Unless... There's restrictions on the pins. Would those be under "WALT Disney Classics collection"?

As a CM at a Disney Store, I can tell you that Dizpins has much more up to date information than anything distributed in TDS. The CM's there are OFTEN the last ones to know about things like this. I am relatively certain that all of the Disney Stores will be getting the pins in Sepember (we even had a whole new department labeled pins on the last few inventory sheets). The Confusion may be due to the pin sets that are currently listed in the catalog. It is my understanding that a few select stores (I am guessing Gallery Stores) will also carry these pin sets. I wouldn't get discouraged based on information from your local store!

I agree. I work at a DS too and this is the first I have heard about it. I was planning on getting one of the sets from the cat. While I did not collect the whole set of millennium pins, I do have some extras, and was very disapointed to see the left overs pins down at WDW last year in march.

Hi Wanda,

What is the scoop about this coupon? You buy a happy meal, and get a coupon for the Disney Store? That would be very useful at pin buying time.

Matt, you get them in Happy Meals or Mega Meals (for older kids). I read the restrictions, but they are unclear regarding pins.

Here they are:

"Not valid on animation art (all cels and limited edition prints), Walt Disney Classics Collection, mini bean bag plush, theme par passes, gift certificates, Disney Dollars, pre-sales, special orders, shipping & handling, previous purchases or price adjustments. Not valid in combination with any other coupon, offer or discount."

Although it seems that my local DS gave me the discount on some items already at 75%!

Would this apply to the pins in Sept? Who can confirm/deny?!
