Bad news for larger guest planning to Visit Potter

Understood....i just think the same ride could have been accomplished with a bit more engineering and money to make sure it is not an issue...money disney will spend to make sure its a family attraction and universal wont

I think it may have been hard in this case. Or maybe not worth it to them? From what I am reading the ride works much like the Sum of all Thrills at Epcot, except you will also be moving along a track. I am interested to know if anyone has had any problems at that ride?

As an ex ride operator I can tell you one of the hardest parts of my job was telling people that because I could not get there restraint closed to a certain point, they would be unable to ride. Most people don't like to be told this after waiting 3 hours in line. I have let loads of people scream and "vent" at me for this reason.

IMHO Disney has not put anywhere near the time, engineering and/or money in any ride they have built in the last 20 years as Universal as with this ride. Once again IMHO.

Then again I still find Spiderman to be the best ride in the Orlando area. Also MIB to be better then TSM and BL.

I think this is pretty terrible! I understand that there is only so much they can do if they were set on a certain ride type, but couldn't they go for something that everyone can ride? Did it HAVE to be this ride vehicle?

I really hope this rumour is false, and that everyone gets a turn! (Except Kevin, he gets to skip it ;) )

I am going for opening (not that i'd planned it that way, but its the way it worked out). I am just nervous because I really don't like spinning rides, and the new ride vehicle (from my position of complete ignorance) looks like it could go in some seriously random directions! Lets hope my day doesn't get ruined because I get sick on the first ride we do! I will still do it! I can't be there on opening day and not do it!

Spiderman is an incredible example of what can be done with a non restrictive ride vehicle. A ride all can enjoy. Spiderman is probably the best theme park attraction of the past 20 years. Universal should have followed their own example.

I think the problem here is that they would have to completely change the way the ride works. From the looks of the ride vehicles its going to be tossing your around a bit.

I don't think the problem is making a safety harness for us larger folk, the problem is that once they do that the same harness would no longer be safe for the smaller folk. The decision then comes down to designing a harness for the majority of body types.

Again, the ride is not out yet so you never know. They may have a plan.

im a big dude ..no hulk, no dueling dragons or doctor doom....ok whatever all have same type of restraint system ...and i wont fit....rnr coaster, everest, mission space or anything at disney is no problem.

Just disappointed i love hp and cant ride the new attraction in hogwarts because the people at universal have made a restrictive ride.......do you ever think that disney imagineers would desighn the new fantasyland attractions/cars land or little mermaid not to fit many people...wouldnt happen

Can you fit into RnR? Just wondering about the restraint issue vs Univeral in general.

I agree with that, I wish Disney would step outside the box and build a thrill ride. I love TSM, but it wasn't groundbreaking technology by any means. The same tech has been at DisneyQuest for 10 years. I'm not excusing Universal, I think now days they could make it work for people of almost all shapes and sizes.
