We just returned from our May 7th through the 14th stay at POFQ, and I have to say the Mousekeeping service was terrible! We were in Bldg. 2 on the 3rd floor and shared a connecting room with my parents. They arrived late Saturday night, and their room was not clean. There was lint and hair along the back of the shelf over their sinks and also along the back of the tub, and crumbs on the table. Also, one of their pillowcases had make-up all over it. They complained the next morning before leaving for the parks, and assured it would be taken care of. When we returned that night, Mousekeeping had left a huge bag of soaps and shampoos, but the dirty areas were still dirty, and the dirty pillowcase was still on the pillow!! They complained again, and was given a night's credit on their bill. The pillowcase was changed the next day, but their room was never completely cleaned. Our room was clean, but we had a two distressing incidents involving Mousekeeping. First, we returned from the parks one evening to find our door not completely shut all the way. We were able to push it open without using the key at all. Obviously, Mousekeeping just let the door close by itself, without pulling it shut to make sure it was closed, and it didn't close all the way. Anyone could have had access to our room at any time that day!! Fortunately, nothing was missing, but we complained to Guest Services, and they assured us they would speak to Mousekeeping about the matter. Then, on the morning we left, we were taking our time to get ready and pack, since we were driving home, and in no hurry to leave. Around 9 AM, the Mousekeeper let herself into our room. When we came to the door to stop her, she demanded to know when we were leaving. We told her that check-out was at 11, and we would be gone by then. After we were dressed, we opened the blinds to let in some more light while we packed, and we noticed her come and peek in the window several times, with a disgusted look on her face. She was obviously put out that we were still there. And on top of all that, we never got a towel animal!!! (I know, I know, they are just something nice and shouldn't be expected. But, my DD7 has always on previous trips returned to our room in the evenings to find animals, notes, and arrangements made out of her stuffed animals, and was really disappointed to return to the room on this trip to find nothing! Again, not a big deal, but no fun for her.)

This was our first and last stay at POFQ. It upsets me because I know so many people here on the DIS love it, and I was really looking forward to staying there. I did love the smaller size and we enjoyed the food court, but other than that, we were not impressed. Everything else about the trip was great, and we had a really good time. :earsboy:

This is exactly the reason why my DH does not like to leave a tip . He states that when we go to a restaurant we tip according to the service but for Mousekeeping we are supposed to leave the tip everyday because it is not always the same person who cleans your room.He made the comment, "So if they do a lousy job can I find the mousekeeper and ask for my money back?"

I'm sorry you had such bad mousekeeping on your trip. But I did have to laugh. You were disappointed that you didn't get any towel animals.. when you couldn't get a clean pillowcase??!! I can't imagine why you would be surprised by that. I would have been really put out if I had a towel animal and the room was left in the condition you found it in. Really, I'm not being sarcastic or trying to be rude. But can you imagine how you would have felt if you had come back to that messy/dirty room, and found a terrific towel animal? I would have looked at it as a blatant hand-out for a big tip!!!

I can certainly understand how upset I would be if I came back and found my door ajar!!! That wouldn't have been a pretty sight to see when my dh got to the front desk!!! And to have your mousekeeper keep at you as to when you were leaving...no excuse, absolutely no excuse for that. I hope you mentioned that when you left. I mean, really....it seems to be pretty evident that the mousekeepers didn't do too much when you were actively staying there...so now they want to get in and 'not clean' again?? Go figure.

Safe to assume that there weren't any big ole tips left on your table?? Here's hoping mousekeeping got the message!!

Oh no, believe me, we weren't surprised that we didn't get towel animals!!! I was being a little sarcastic when I said that in my OP, because I know that some people really aren't happy when they don't get any. It just seemed that we all had issues with Mousekeeping this trip; my parents were upset over their dirty room, we were upset about the door situation, and my DD just couldn't fathom why she wasn't getting towel animals (dirty room or not!)! :)

We did start out tipping, but DH and DDad stopped that practice really quickly! I'm not sure if they got the message, or if they tried to send a message to us with the bad service  !

Thanks for not thinking I was rude. I have to say that the best mousekeeping at AllStarMusic...and that's where we got our one and only towel animal. Hard to believe that we had the best service at the least expensive resort. Go figure. Hopefully your next trip will be 'cleaner'!!!

Now I am a little nervous -- I am so looking forward to our trip at the end of the month - the beginning of June, we are staying at POFQ the whole time. I hope that the management will have addresssed the problems you encountered and everything will run smoothly while we are there.

And I hope we get a towel animal ;) I haven't told my girls about them just in case they don't appear.

When were there the Mousekeeping was the best part of POFQ - yeah, I didn't think the hotel itself was anything to write home about, but our room was always clean!

I would not worry one bit!! I think the OP had an unfortunate experience and I feel sorry for her and her family, but really bad Mousekeeping can happen at any resort...value to deluxe. We LOVE POFQ....we were there in January and return in 17 days!! Have a wonderful trip :flower:

Thanks that made me feel a whole lot better --- I can't wait for this trip -- well in a way I can -- not packed and ready etc... but I am so excited :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Oh, I definitely don't want to discourage anyone who is planning on staying at POFQ! I think we just got a bad luck of the draw where Mousekeeping was concerned. In fact, there is another post on this board from someone who was there the same time, in another building, and they said they had great Mousekeeping. POFQ is a nice resort, it's just that my family has had better experiences at POR and CBR, so if we stay in another moderate, it will probably be one of those instead of POFQ (although we're shooting for WL on the next trip!). But really, don't let our troubles discourage you; bad Mousekeeping can happen anywhere and this was our first problem in three years. We have always had great Mousekeeping in the past. I just needed to vent a little! :)

Oh - no you didn't say anything too discouraging -- I am just a bit of a wreck lately - just so excited and worried something will happen and it won't be as magical as I hoped.

But you said other really nice things about the resort -- really I don't think anything could ruin this trip -- it is Disney after all :cool1:

Can you write a letter? State right at the onset - I do not want any compensation, I want improvement, I want the message boards I post to feel comfortable about staying at POFQ... and then mention your dates, times, and rooms - I just keep reading here and there from CM's that say they read these comments and use them in training... if this is so, maybe it will make a difference, we can hope!!

It must be something with building #2. I stayed there in April, I loved the resort, the walking/running trail, the use of 2 food courts and the grounds. I thought the room was nice also, but on a Sat. I was to drive to Leesburg for an event and when I went to my room at 2pm it was still not made up!!. I had been out of the room since 8am! I called and it was another 90 minutes before anyone headed up there to clean it! I needed to take a shower and there were no clean towels besides that I figured just about the time I get in the maid will show up!! We probably had the same mousekeeper! But it will not stop me from staying there again, from now on I will go directly to the front desk instead of calling and make my point loud and clear! I also found them to be quite stingy with the soap etc......not that I use it I pack it up and send it to a woman up north who makes care packages for kids with cancer. Hopefully my stay there in Oct. will be a little better.

Just wanted to comment on your adorable siggy pic! I love Eeyore too and your kitty is precious :lovestruc

Sorry about your experience. I think I would have been disappointed, as well.

But I wanted to say that I was there during the same timeframe and had the exact opposite experience. We stayed in building 4 and had an adjoining room with my in-laws. Our service was great and we had towel animals or an arrangement almost every day. Everything was well cleaned and we had plenty of supplies. We did tip every day, though. My in-laws ran low on kleenex a couple of days. They didn't tip daily - so I don't know if there was a connection there. They were generally pleased with their Mousekeeping, though.

Hope your next Mousekeeping experience is better!!

The other poster that stayed at POFQ at the same time was me! I was in building 3, my friend was in building 7 and we both had wonderful mousekeeping. We also both got a towel animal (a peacock). Like the OP said, it was probably just the mousekeeper that they got. I had several different ones, and they were all wonderful!
