Bad mom confession

DS14 had surgery yesterday and is downstairs. I'm supposed to be downloading songs to his IPOP for him. I'm done and now I'm listening to his IPOD. Its been a long 24hrs! if i'm listening to HIS IPOD.

I guess I should give it back to him since he is in a knee immobilizer and on crutches and can't get up here.

Yes, you should give it back since he is at your mercy.
But I sure think you should put an ipod on your Christmas list (lol).

DS was born with a bowed tibia. His right leg is shorter than his left. Instead of trying to lengthen his right leg, which requires a long intense process, the dr. is stopping the growth of his left leg (just the lower part). He had the growth of his tibula stopped in 2003 but that didn't even the gap enough. So yesterday he had the growth stopped on the fibula. This should bring his legs within 1/4 of an inch when he is done.

What they do is make 2 cuts in the knee area, go in and scrape the growth cells from the bone. This leaves a hole in the bone that is very fragile. He needs the knee immobilizer so that he doesn't injure or break the bone in that area.

And I did give him is IPOD back (along with his pain meds.)
