I just had to express my extreme disappointment regarding one of the losing family teams on Fear Factor last night. My kids and I really enjoyed watching the episode--particularly because all the kids were right around their ages. My younger son really wanted the "all male" team to win--father & son--and they ended up placing second (therefore, losing) in the final challenge.

What really burned me up is that Joe (the host) asked them if they wanted to congratulate the winning team, and the DAD said "No, we don't." and wouldn't even look at the winning team. I was ASTOUNDED that a father would set such a poor example for his son by acting like such a sore loser.

At least a sparked a conversation with my kids about good sportsmanship. But still, I hope that guy's wife (and friends, and acquaintances) really gives it to him for setting such a bad example on a show that was probably watched by many, many kids.

I said that EXACT thing to my DH last night! Great example he is setting for his son. What a loser!!! ;) :D :p

That's pretty bad, what a poor sport. Good for you though taking the opportunity to talk your kids about it!

ooohhh, I saw that too! That guy was so rude, in the first event when his son started cheering on Madison his father asked him if he was getting soft on him. I was glad to see them get there butts beat by the other team!

Wow! What a jerk! He was pretty arogant throughout the whole process! He KNEW they had won the car - he KNEW they had won the last challenge - I think he had already spent the $$!! We too took the opportunity to bring up sportmanship - and what you should do! I bet he's hearing it from everyone he knows today! JERK!

What a bad loser, my kids were seriously offended by them both. I was glad to see my kids were disgusted by that. That would have been the perfect oppurtunity for that Father to teach his son something. Too bad.

DM was just telling me about this, she was horrified by the father's behavior...sad.

That's what they get for assuming they won! I am glad they lost because they were such poor sports about it. Glad to see a mom/daughter team win!!

Actually it was the Mother/Son team that won. And they did great because the Mom jumped off the boat WAY late and the boy was not a strong swimmer. :)

The Mother/Daughter team lost to the Father/Son team by 2 seconds!

Oops! I think you meant mom/son team (they won both the car, and the 50K!)

I did really like how most of the teams would tell one another "good job!" and congratulate one another after completing a stunt.

I saw that too and couldn't believe he said that. I'm glad they aired it though, so the whole country knows what a jerk he is. Although, really, everyone on FF is all about 'talkin trash.'

I said the exact same thing.."Nice example he's setting there" The son already was shaking his head no so he's already learned to be a spoil sport.

DH and I were more astounded by the fact that the dad said something to the son about "cruising with 10 grand in his pocket" :earseek:

If DH and DS ever won that much money you better believe the vast majority is going into savings!! DH and I both said DS would get about $500 to play with and the rest would be for savings.

The dad annoyed me overall though. But the mom on the mom/daughter team had her fair share of moments where I wanted to slap her silly too!

I felt the same way. My son and I were cheering for anyone but that boy and his dad. They just had a terrible attitude.

We also enjoy watching FF as a family. My kids went on and on about how rude the father and son were -- we didn't have to say a word! I feel sorry for that little boy though.
