I just got my save the dates to send out to my family, but now I have a problem. I have bad handwriting, and I think I might just make address labels for the save the dates. It made me think about our invitations and how I was going to address those. Would it be appropiate to use labels for the invites as well?

We simply chose a font that matched our invitations, and then put the envelopes themselves through the printer. That way there's no label, and the look of the text matches the printing inside.

we used a calligrapher the first time around and printed directly on the invites the second time (same DH, new wedding date)

I'm printing directly on the invite envelope, however my RSVP envelopes were too small, so I used a label for them :)

I did the printer too. However I did splurge on the rsvps & have then printed with our address.

Diehard etiquette mavens will tell you that labels are a no-no on wedding invites. However, as the printer of my invites pointed out, having undeliverable invitations because your handwriting is so bad is an even BIGGER no-no! :)

I printed labels using free templates from Martha Stewart Weddings.com

Here's the link to the template on her site.

Yeah. We had them print the RSVP envelopes, too

I have gotten a wedding invite with a label. I have to say I really just thought it looked so tacky because it wasn't as cool as Carrie's. It was more like a clear label that the name wasn't even centered on.

It was so easy to print all the envelopes. It took me about 2 hours to get 90 of them done. It's definitely do-able.

Oh that picture is of the labels Martha did. My labels were all crooked and raggedy! :lmao:

We used Debi at the Blooming Quill for calligraphy and she was a delight to work with, her prices were reasonable, and the work was beautiful!

They are easy to print.

And I have to say, I've gotten invitations with labels on them, too. I was so excited and touched that they were including me in their big day that I didn't care about the label.

But, then, I'm a guy.

I am also going to print right on the envelope from the printer. It is just as easy as a label and cheaper because you don't have to go out and buy the labels. :thumbsup2

After all the good talk of just printing, I think I'll give it a try with my save the dates too! ( i have about 25 to practice on! :rotfl: )
