A friend of mine has tried the boxed Dole Whips that are now available in Florida Publix Stores. He said they tasted bitter, were tan instead of yellow, and weren't creamy at all. On top of that they are charging 10$ USD for a box of 4 very small servings. I'd steer clear of this dud.

I bought a box months ago, still have one left in the freezer. They're not bad, but definitely not the real thing.

Amazon sells the dry power Dole Whip mix so you can make it yourself at home. Even the real product Disney sells is non-dairy and contains no ice cream. Have also seen those 'copycat' recipes online that start by whizzing fresh fruit in a blender. The real thing contains no fruit pulp, so clearly they aren't what you get at Disney.

Thanks for the heads up.
I love the Dole Whip at Disney! Always need to get one at Magic Kingdom 😋

In my experience this stuff really has to be mixed properly. My buddy has a machine that does it and it works pretty well as long as he gets the ratio right when loading. It is tricky, but it can be good.

Never heard of Dole Whip until I got on these boards. The Dole booth outside the Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland was always a regular stop, but for fresh pineapple and juice, never noticed when they added Dole Whip.
However, seems like every frozen yogurt shop has it, and there is always a Dole Whip booth at Fairs and all the show at the fairgrounds so it is easy to find.

Oh those things are vile. I don't even think they should be allowed to use "Dole Whip." It's not the same product at all.

I’ve never bought them in a grocery store, but we have 3 Ice cream shops near us that have them in the summer. Usually two flavors at a time so you can swirl them together if you want.

Even if you get the official Dole Whip powder it has to be mixed just right and kept at the right temperature. Disney has this down to a science as their DWs are the "creamiest" and most delicious. There's a frozen yogurt place around here that has Dole Whip (or claims to) but they mix it all wrong, very stiff and icy.

We are lucky to have a Dole Whip truck in our area and it taste's exactly like WDW's:) So we only have withdrawals when they're closed for 4 months during winter. We have had ones at a few different frozen yogurt places and they do not really come close, different texture and taste. The truck owner says she had to have a special machine that is mainly for Dole Whips and that is why a lot of the other places do not look or taste the same.
