Bad Disney Bus experience

First of all, besides this incident all other travel on Disney buses was fine....but none of our drivers seemed happy or friendly

Especially this one....

the bus arrived and the front and back doors opened....as we were waiting for others to get in before we did a mom carrying her very small child started going through the back door, and it just suddenly started closing on her, she backed out just in time. And someone at the front door told the driver the door just about closed on a woman and a baby and his exact response was "I don't care" and then something about how you need to tell him first. I was really upset by the whole incident. It's one thing for him to need to know.....but for him to say "I don't care" I wish I had remembered to get his name, but when the bus stopped I was tired and just wanted to get off.

We were staying offsite and I was surprised at how much more friendly the shuttle drivers were than the Disney bus drivers we had. I expected more from Disney.

Wow! What an "undisney" comment from the driver. One thing though - the back door is only supposed to be used for exiting, not entering. The driver probably thought those who needed to exit were off, so he closed it.

Sorry you had a bad experience. For every bad experience, there are many good experiences. I stayed at the BWV. One morning I got up later than the rest of my group and was going to meet up with them at the MK. I was walking down to the bus stop and noticed a bus pulling away. I ran and the bus was for MK. I kept running. The bus driver must have seen me and stopped opened the door and said "Glad you could join us." I thanked him and he smiled back and I took my seat.

Overall this trip, I found the transportation CMs very friendly.

Although I cannot comment on that specific driver or incident, I would like to point out that at the back door of each of our buses, there are multiple signs that say, "DO NOT ENTER" with the international "no" symbol, as well as "EXIT ONLY" signs in the stairwell itself, and "STAND CLEAR" signs on the insides of the doors.

Us drivers only get a view of the rear stairwell area. Once we see the last person exit the bus, we close the back door. Anyone who attempts to cut in line by boarding through the back door, risks getting separated from thier party, or worse yet, getting caught in the door as it closes. It's unfortunate, but can easily be avoided by simply reading the signs.

I will also add that anyone with an extra-large stroller is more than welcome to board through the back door. However, they must have reached the front of the line, and they must ask the driver. The driver will then verify the stroller is folded, and open the back door for the person with the stroller only. Everyone else must still board through the front door.

I realized there was a sign, and I understand that the driver would need to know.

I was simply upset by the reaction of the driver and him saying "I don't care" and the way he said it, he really didn't.

I just returned from seven days at wdw and the bus service was excellant!!

I was at WL and from all the stories I had heard about the transportation, I was almost dreading it. But I only had one wait of more than 5 minutes for a bus. Most times the busses were arriving just as I was walking out to the stop. The driver's were very friendly and helpful.

Two times I was on busses the drivers went way above the call of duty when a couple of dummies did not listen to the announcments (2 girls thought there was still a West Side stop and a woman and her son wanted to go to Typhoon Lagoon, even though the driver stopped there before picking up at Downtown). Neither driver gave attitude or was rude to the dummies, they just made an attempt to accomodate them without messing up everyone else's plans.

The only thing I didn't like about the busses was that I never found Tyler. I looked for him, but never found him.

Oh, well, next time I'll know right where to find him.

Indeed, that comment is not acceptable Disney CM behavior.

My best friend was at WDW last week and as her dh and 7 yo son exited the bus from the back the bus driver shut the door on her son's arm. His arm was bruised by the incident, but could have been much worse. She said Disney bent over backwards for them after they complained at their resort's front desk. As they exited the bus driver apparently couldn't see them and shut the doors too soon.

When entering one of the Disney's New Nova Buses the back door has a Delay of about 5 to 6 seconds from the time the door switch is moved to the closed position by the driver before the back door will close, this is just enough time for someone to try to enter the door as it is closing.

Also when you Enter the Exit door you will also take a chance of ending up on a bus going somewhere other place then where you want to go, so its always best to enter the front entrance in order to reach the destination you had in mind.
