What is the worst counter service in WDW. :confused3 I don't think there's anything on these boards about counter service to avoid.

Cantina San Angel (Mexico) was absolutely inedible when we ate there a few years ago. We are experienced Mexican food eaters and eat it regularly in many forms and many different types of places (and live and work in an area that is heavily Mexican, including a vibrant Mexican community in our church). Cantina San Angel was terrible and gross food.

We also did not care for this counter service.

The Cantina San Angel used to be really good in the early 90s. The menu was different then. We last ate there in 2002 and the food wasn't hot and we felt kinda ill after.

NOOOO!!!! My husband has his heart set on Cantina San Angel while we watch Illuminations! Someone tell me it's good food! Or even edible...

food should be hot or cold or you can get food poisoning. i send it back if they will not serve it properly and get my money back. been sick from bad food and will never risk it again

This is very, very good advice and should be followed. I went against my better judgement and ate toppings on my food (pickles, onions, tomato) that were not being properly chilled and had been sitting for a while at the American Pavilion in Epcot, what can I say I was hungry. I ended up with a nasty little case of food poisoning that left me feeling like death on the last two days of my trip. Use common sense or you will end up like I did

You took the words right outta my mouth!!!!!! The cheese on the nachos.....was ughhhh.....it tasted like powdered cheese that had been mixed with water.

I know I am in the minority on this one...we hate Pecos Bill's. On our most recent visit our burgers were dry and burned beyond recognition....hence the need for the topping bar! We waited forever for our food and the place was a zoo. On a lighter note, we always enjoy Cosmic Ray's. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

POFQ food court has been the worst counter service I've recently eaten. We tried it twice on our long weekend stay in Jan. The takeout pizza was awful, cardboard shell for a crust, gross toppings...I had it several years ago and it was good, what happened??? The breakfast was ok as long as you skipped the eggs, yuck, I hate eggs cooked in a vat! When in POFQ, stick with the beignets!

Its a tie, but the America Pavilian is the worst, only followed closely by the Mexico counter service. We have the worse time finding quick food at EPCOT. Sometimes we get desperate and then I turn and say, "don't ever let me do that again". Just give me a pretzel in Germany to hold me over.

I have to agree with n2mm and the American Pavilion. I just wanted something fast to snack on and if I could have dug a hole to get rid of it, I would had, nasty taste and the young lady behind the counter was put out by everyone being there... never again!

I've had two bad counter service experiences at WDW. The worst was our visit to Pecos Bill's last year. The food was okay, but the problem was the place was filthy! Now, I know a busy restaurant is going to get messy, but this was really bad. There was trash everywhere, and every table had food crumbs on it. The toppings bar was horrendous. We picked the cleanest table we could find, but when my son sat down he got ketchup from the chair all over his shorts. Yuck!

I also thought that ABC Commissary was bad, both for food and cleanliness.

Other than that, I've enjoyed every counter service meal I've had at WDW. :)

Granted, I don't really like fastfood under the best of circumstances (outisde the World); but I just don't like most WDW counterservice food. In particular, the hamburgers taste like school burgers. Yuck! If I had to name one restaurant as the very worst, I'd have to say ABC Commissary.

I totally agree about Cantina San Angel!! We are not picky about food, but this place was awful. I am a "clean my plate" type of person, and I could not force myself to finish my food. It was that bad. :( The atmosphere is nice though. LOL

I can't think of any other counter service that we really disliked.

Another vote for ABC Commissary. Been there twice and the food has been terrible, and the place was dirty.

A close second is Pizza Planet.

Why is it that MGM doesn't have a decent counter service restaurant?

outside cantina--mexico---YUCK!!!--that would be the one I pick

san angel inn though(inside)--yummy

Sorry this is long!! I've posted this before, but's it's so ridiculous and uncalledfor that it bears repeating. It's about the service, not necessarily the food. OK, Deep breath...my blood pressure is rising just mentally reliving this experience...
Who- It happened to me, I was with DMIL & DD
What-a very un-Disney, in need of over-dose of pixie dust cashier
When-Friday of Pres. Week 04
Where-Electric Umbrella, Epcot

Story-As with all counter service, you stand in line, look at the over head menu and then place order with the cashier. The place was NOT busy, they had just started switching from breakfast to lunch and we were the only people in her line. We were a bit distracted, as my MIL & I were "discussing" who was going pay for lunch (you know how that goes). We had decided what to order. DD gave her order, then MIL, then me. Right after she entered the order, the thought occured to me ask whether or not the sandwich came already with mayo (I hate mayo). She replied in a very snarky voice, "I don't know". Then I said, "well, if it does, could I please have the sandwich without mayo?" You'll love her response, very loud and obnoxious "YOU COULD HAVE TOLD ME THIS BEFORE I SENT THE ORDER TO THE KITCHEN!!" Boy you could have scraped our mouths off the floor. Everyone within earshot heard her. She huffed up off her seat and yelled back to the kitchen "Does a #4 come with or without mayo!?!" (They replied it was a southwestern spread, but that's not the point). She yells back to them again in a very smart-alecky tone and eyeballs rolling, "the customer does not want anything on the sandwich!!!" Anyway, we got our food went to table stunned at this very un-Disney occurance. I immediately called my co-worker and fellow Disney freak and she said I should go directly to guest services and report it. I would have except that it was the last day of vacation and I didn't want to waste another minute.
Sorry if I rambled, I knew you guys would love it :earsgirl: .
