Bad back question

I have had a herniated disks in my neck. I feel for your husband.

I would do 7DMT for sure. It's really smooth and does not jerk you around like BTMRR (that and Space are the worst for me). RnR is fine for me too. Your head gets pushed back and there is not a lot of movement on your neck and shoulders. ToT is not bad.

Splash is a little tricky. Sometimes there is a little jerk when the boat catches the conveyor belt (I hate that).

The worst of all is the Matador Bobsleds in Disneyland. I felt like going to the ER after that one.

I hope you have a magical time despite your husband's injury.

The boat rides (Pirates, Small World, Splash, maybe even Grand Fiesta Tour) have a backlog of boats at the end creating a bumper car type situation, over and over until you exit the ride vehicle. Generally it isn't too jarring however for someone already nursing a whiplash injury, it may exacerbate it. Something to keep in mind.

Thank you all!

It's really hard to choose since hubby doesn't even know we are going! I just want him to have a great time and be happy. This really helps.

I have disc bulge high in my neck and degenerative discs in my lower back (from compensating for neck not working properly) and have ridden nearly every ride this week. Walking around has me in pain most of the time for the amount of walking done here but I try to sit and lean whenever I can. The ride that gets to me the most is the Primeval Whirl at AK (I know you said you wouldn't be going there but just for others).

This! I was recovering from an injury and was very surprised by the pain that resulted at the end of Pirates when the boats bumped together.

I hope your husband feels better soon, OP.

Yes, walking a long time is also hard on him so I'll let him tell me when he needs to stop. Basically, I think our days will end with dinner. I won't make any plans or have any expectations after then, so he can rest if he needs to. If he's up for more, fine, but I won't have any FPs for the night.

This is an anniversary trip, so more hotel time is in the plans. *wink*

I also had whiplash from a car accident, I thought, turned out to be 3 ruptured disks and ended up having to have a 3 level cervical fusion. Went to the park 2 months after surgery (in consultation with my surgeon) while still in a cervical collar. I didn't do EE, Space Mountain, or Rock-n-Roll but rode everything else without issues. I am going to be 2+ years post fusion for my next trip and will ride everything but EE..the backwards motion hurt me even before my surgery.

Definitely skip the orange Mission Space at Epcot. I can't prove it but I think I got a herniated disc after riding it last March. Woke up in the middle of the night in agony. 3 months of therapy, pain management, immobility. It was rough. I will never go on it again :(
