Darian said:A gun safety course is pretty much what it sounds like. You and I both know that guns never just "go off" by themselves, and I'm sure you know how to handle a weapon safely, and what the rules of your typical shooting range are. But people who are new to shooting often don't have the benefit of the instruction you and I got from family or friends. But by memorizing the 10 basic rules of gun safety, and following them, virtually all firearms related accidents can be prevented. Though shooting is a safe sport, its always a worthy effort to make it even safer and to promote the responsible handling of firearms.
The guy teaching gun safety at our very busy YMCA a couple of years ago discharged his rifle right into the hallway. Luckily it was stopped by the block wall and didn't kill the kids taking swimming lessons.
