Do you find American bacon strange? Seriously! We love bacon, and miss it when we are out of the country. Both the cut and the flavor - non-US bacon tasts like ham to us.

So... is it one of those things that you look forward to, like I've heard some say about cornbread, or is it one of those things you don't understand, like pancakes and sausage together?

Coming from Down Under i do find American bacon strange. As a bacon lover and have eaten it all over the world, it is one of two things I hate travelling in the US. One is bacon and the other is coffee. I find the baon too rubbery and coffee too weak. But there is plenty to compensate for these two minor things.

I warned my family when we travelled in December but saying that they loved the bacon. They can't understand how I hate the bacon.

I do believe that the bacon you like, we call canadian bacon. Go figure? So look for that next time you are in the states.;)

Can always ask for extra crispy bacon too, :) I hate rubbery bacon, but love it when its very crispy, so always ask to have it that way when we go out.

Just in case you ever end up in Canada...we have basically the same bacon as in the U.S. (I know it Britain its referred to as streaky bacon.) If you want what Americans call "Canadian Bacon" its called Back bacon or if it has a crust - Peameal bacon.

Thanks for clearing that up. I've always wondered about that. (Cause I LOVE Back Bacon)

You're right there, but it's usually the kitchen's fault...they just try to cook the bacon too fast and use cheap cuts. And the same goes with the coffee. If you're back in the U.S. look for an Original Pancake House (though the ones in Florida all seem to be btwn Palm Beach and Miami...sniff..no Orlando). Huge pieces of very crisp, lovely bacon :thumbsup2 And the coffee seems to be a medium roast, but not too bad (especially compared to the WDW swill!). Though that's hard to recommend since I don't know if by "weak" you mean roast type or coffee-to-water ratio.
