Cast - Me 30 yr old female, my DH 31, My 2 DD's 6 & 1
The Saturday before we are set to leave my brother-in-law calls and says he and his daughter ( 5) will be there the same time as us. He is stationed in Paris Island, SC. I wish I had known earlier because he offered his military discount but we already had our tickets. Anyway, My husband says why don't you stay with us? Ok , but we are slated to stay at CI&S Calypso Cay and that room doesn't fit 6. So I change our first 2 days to Super 8 Suites on 192 (2 bdr suite).
Fast forward to the night before we leave (Thursday April 18th). We run to Kmart to pick up last minute stuff. On the way home the check engine light comes on in my husband's truck (the vehicle we are planning to drive down). So up early Friday and into the shop it goes. Well, it wound up being an O2 sensor that was fixed in an hour. So pack the truck and on our way from Winston-Salem, NC about 11:30am.
The drive was uneventful till we got to Orlando.
The directions the lady at Super 8 gave us sucked. She told us to get off at John Young Parkway and go till we reached 192, turn right and they would be 2 blocks off to the right. Now this was true but we went down John Young Parkway and got stuck at every light. I-4 would have been MUCH faster. We arrived about 9 pm. We finally hooked up with my brother-in-law about 9:30 and off to Hooters for dinner.
The room was ok. It was an old style apartment buliding with 4 rooms per building. It was clean and enough space for everyone.
We planned our next day. The original plan was to go to EPCOT all day since we had an Illuminations cruise planned for Saturday evening. However, my brother-in-law was like "There is nothing for the kids to do at EPCOT." So I switched gears and said what about AK first then MGM. So there is the plan.
Tomorrow AK, MGM and Illuminations.
