Has anyone done the backstage magic tour that is 7 hours long? If so, is it worth it and what surprises are ther that books mention?:D

I've never experienced this tour. I'll just bump this back to page one for you so that some of our veterans can offer advice.

I did it in 1999 and it was fantastic! No doubt it's changed - we got to go in the animation building and paint a cel - sure that's gone now!

You go into the utilidors under MK, we saw Body Wars from backstage, met a "Streetmosphere" character at MGM (Adventurers Club regulars know her as "Viking" - she's from Minnesota, don't cha know).

It is really worth it - and you even get lunch!

Yes, It is wonderful! I just went in December. It was the hightlight of my trip. We spent time touring several builidings (Disney's florist, the building where they keep all the Christmas Decoration, etc) and went into all of the parks (except AK). We had a great lunch (served family style) at Mama Melrose's at MGM. They will only take 25 people a day on this tour so it is also fun getting to know other people who love Disney as much as we do. James was our tour guide and he was the BEST!!! If you have any ques., I'll try to answer them for you.

I've been on the Keys to the Kingdom tour - will it still be interesting to go on Backstage Magic?

Can you tell us a little more of what you did on the tour? We don't like the Star Wars ride - would that still be interesting to us?

This will be our 11th trip to WDW so I'm thinking maybe it would be fun to do something different but on the other hand, will I feel like we wasted our money?

Thanks!
