I am thinking of booking this trip for my dh for his birthday and going next December.

I do have a number of questions, though.

Is it likely that there will be a lot of kids on the trip (the week before Xmas)? I'd prefer the adults only trip, but work in education (although I am not in the classroom, like a teacher) and would prefer not to be gone while school is ion session.

Are the tours ones you could not book on your own? One of the tours at DL sounds like it is similar to "A Walk in Walt's Footsteps" Tour.

Do you get to eat at Club 33?

Is there anything else I should know that I didn't read in the trip reports?

It's obviously a lot of money and I want to make sure I am making a good choice.

I can't tell you about the kids because I have only booked adults only tour. You definitely get to do tours that you cannot book on your own; even the behind the scenes at Disneyland takes you to places that other tours don't. Club 33 is not guaranteed but several recent tours have gone there.

Hi! I have been on two Backstage Magic tours. One with kids and one with Adults only. No difference at all in what you do. Sometimes they have separate things going on for the kids/teens from the Adults. It would be a good question of ABD. Sometimes they will let you know how many kids vs adults have signed up. (They did for us in the past.)

You will see more than any guest will see; Imagineering, Disney Studios, Jim Henson, backstage at Disneyland, CA Adventure and much, much more. It's amazing and places not open to the public! They try to mix it up a little bit for each group. Every experience is just a little different. One group may see, or receive, something where the next group may not. It just depends on what is going on and what the Guides can do for the guests.

I am planning number three next year. It's an amazing/magical experience for the Disney Fan! Go for it! I can't wait for next time! :goodvibes

....I would go. Your DH would love the ABC tv & its commisary areas (as the Jim Henson studios would be out) - if you take it in late December.

On a historical standpoint of view, IMHO I would book this vacation on your own and add "A Walk in Walt's footsteps" as this would also give you the opportunity to reserve this vacation time of yours with your family and rely less on a group atmosphere, etc.

FYI: This vacation deserves a little bit of background reading and such (dvd watching) as there is a lot of fun things to see and do if you decide to take this trip. Either which way you choose, have fun:goodvibes.

If ya need more info, just "pm" me as I was on this adventure in March of this year.

Jacksparrowfan hit it right on the nose! We also did 2 BSM tours and are signed up for #3! Each trip, each group of people, each special moment is different. What happened on both of those trips was wonderful and I couldn't pick one over the other. The guides are so well prepared to meet the needs of each group. What works for one group does not necessarily work for another.

I definitely recommend this trip to any die hard fan! We did it twice and we're looking forward to the whatever surprises are in store on the next one!

Thank you for the information.

I am looking at tours that are either the beginning of June (the 7th) or December 18th (just before Xmas)

My kids are older (at that time, I will have a son who is a sophomore in college, a daughter who is a junior in HS and a son who is a freshman in HS. So older son will be home to watch siblings and my parents live about 15 minutes from me.

Any thoughts on one date over another? Any way to get a discount of any kind?

June would probably bring the summer fun that Disneyland likes to have and warmer weather. December would bring the beautiful Christmas/Holiday decorations and cooler weather. (Possible rain? But, Disneyland is still great to be at even when it rains.) Sounds like you just may do this tour? I hope so! It's awesome!

I'm partial to holiday decorations! We went in December last trip. It did rain (about the only time last year) but it didn't damper the experience at all. This year we are doing the Adventure at Halloween.
