I know this is a crazy question, but this is my first WDW 1/2 marathon. I was looking at this fannypack and backpacks that hold liquid for u to consume while hiking, bike riding, running, etc. Has any one here used one? I have been training drinking water and orange gatorade. I need something to carry "power food" as well. Thank you for the help.

I am so excited and nervous at the same time.

Hi there. I bought a water bottle holder with an extra pouch to hold my extras like gel. You can look at your local running shoe store or do a search for something like "water bottle holder". There is all kinds of stuff. Take care

Amphipod has some good products. I have the full-tilt pack and I like it.

Thank you so much for the suggestions.

I second the Camelbak hydration packs. They make a few different models depending on your budget, how much fluid you want to carry, and extra pouches to carry other essentials. I find the 70 oz size works good for me on the long training rides. For running, I've never tried it for that so I don't know if it would be cumbersome or not...

I use one of the Fuelbelts and try to plan my runs so that I either pass a water fountain a few times or pass by our house to fill up the bottles. I added a pouch on it to hold my cell phone so I can always call to be picked up if something happens.

I personally use one of the amphipod units that comes with multiple bottles. That way I can carry different types of drinks and different amounts, depending on the distance.

I would stay away from the camelbak backpacks personally for running, because it brings your center of gravity up on your body which could alter your running form and put more pressure on your knees than necessary. I think they have camelbak belts, which would go around the waist or lower back. That would be better for running IMO than the traditional backpack.

I have the AmphiPod Run Lite and I love it. Its comfy and I can change the components to suit whatever I am doing (add more bottles, more pouches, whatever.) :teeth:

Hey Lan
I'm in the same boat. I have been looking at the various sporting goods stores, and running stores and figuring out which ones would work best. I've even looked online for better prices. The brands that I found were : Fuel Belt, Amphipod, Ultimate Direction, Nathan, Nike, and Asics. I'm sure there are more out there, but these were the ones I found to be more prevalent. Good luck! See ya at the Half!

:thumbsup2

I have two Camelbaks.

I love my Camelbak Flashflo for running. It fits around my waist and is designed so there is no sloshing when running. I love the design. I use it for all my long runs for water, GU, keys, glasses, etc.

My other Camelbak is for riding and I would not using it for anything more than riding or walking.

For running, Flashflo is great.....IMHO.

You guys are so helpful. I am getting so excited!!!
