Back to the Future Ride Status

Keeping my fingers crossed for Oct 15, we arrive Oct 13 and DH LOVES it, of course he has not been on it in 10 years but it would be great to ride it one last time

The ramps on the right side of the ride (the ones where people queue up outside right before entering the building) were gone this weekend.

Must repeat....rumor is October 15th.You'll find out Monday.
Hopefully it is just a rumor, ya never know???

My sister and I are going in January and we were hoping to ride this ride again. :( I'm bummed now. I don't understand why they would close it.

I love this ride... ever since i was younger.. 21 now.. but anyway ever since i was younger i always wanted to drive the delorean and this ride gave me that growing up lol.. def going to be sad to see it go.. just as sad as when they took King Kong out...

While I'm sad to see the only ride on earth that calls you "butthead" leave, I'm beyond stoked that the Simpsons ride is *finally* going in. And not just for the 50-foot Marge!

Seing how the Simpsons is a FOX property and no in any way related to Universal.... i'm :SURE: that is whats going in.

That really has nothing to do with it. There's a lot of "other" studio properties in Universal and Disney parks, always has been.

Its pretty well known that one of the islands in Islands of Adventure was supposed to be the Simpsons. Universal Studios management has been trying for years to build rides based on the cartoon but they have so far been unable to get Fox to sign off on anything. I doubt anyone who knows for sure what is going to replace Back to the Future would post here to confirm the ride. On the other hand a few months ago which was well before Universal would say the ride was closing several sites some of which have been right before reported that Universal had decided to close the ride and at the same time said that early reports indicate that the plan is to replace it with a Simpsons based ride.

Anyways Spiderman is Sony, the x-men are Fox, Shrek is DreamWorks, Terminator was MGM who is now owned by Sony, and all of the Nickelodeon shows are owned by Paramount. The only thing I really can't think of off the top of my head are rides or shows at Disney that are based on something not owned or done in some way by Disney.

Indiana Jones is Paramount, Star Wars is Lucasfilm

The Simpsons Hit and Run video game was made by one of the many companies that are part if Universal.
