Back to the Future Ride Status

I will be there on Columbus Day next Monday, I heard they were going to close the ride for good, any word on whether or not it will be operating that day?

I asked the attendent who kinda smiled and said she didn't know anything.

BTTF is still operating? Does anybody know when they will shut it down? I thought the 1st was the last day. Please keep it open just one more week! I'd love to get in a last ride this weekend.

We rode it on Sunday. We asked the attendant and he denied it was closing. He probably is not allowed to state otherwise.

This ride however is so incredibly outdated and needs to be changed unfortunately. Especially with today's audience, half of america doesn't even know about this anymore which is sad. I grew up on it but even I'm happy to hear about it changing and leaving.

I'm sad about it leaving, but it does need to either get a massive rehab and update or just make way for something new. It's been looking kind of shabby and really, really rough.
But BTTF must still be somewhat relevant to the public. TNT, TBS and Starz play at least on of the 3 flicks sometime during the week. In fact Starz BTTF3 on last night.
I just wish Uni would clue the public in a little better. If I had known there was a good chance the ride was going away, I would have made the time to take one more ride.

Well, in my opinion, Back To The Future needs to go. It's almost as bad as Body Wars was over at EPCOT. I couldn't go on either without either getting sick or bruised with all the sudden shifting going on in those rides. Granted, I was a HUGH Back To The Future fan back in the day, but times change. Besides, the Studios is getting a little outdated overall and a little change can't hurt. Just take a look at the E.T. Adventure. It's a great attraction too, but hopelessly outdated.

The Studios needs some need cutting edge stuff like Twister and Men In Black were for their time/addition to the park.

How sad. I remember riding it when it had it's pre-opening. I remember the big countdown clock telling how long until it opened and thinking how cool it was to be able to ride it 'before it was open'. I didn't get to ride it on our last trip (May 06) because I was with DS (18months old) and he wasn't feeling well, so after DH and sister in law rode it, we left US and went back to the house.

Just hope the ride can hold on for a couple more days so that I can ride it for the last time. My wife, nephew and I will be there this coming Wednesday. My wife is pregnant, so she won't be able to ride it. I'm so mean...I love my wife!!! HHN's here we come!!!

That's kind of funny tbird. My DH to be and I have great sense of humor with each other. Sometimes people don't get us. I find it funny 'cause that's my case. He'll be riding and I wont. He makes jokes about it everytime he gets a chance. I'm sorry that is closing.

According to other websites and several people in the park, the ride will closing on the 15th, which is Sunday.

Joining in this chant....please stay open just a little longer. Our first trip is Nov. 4th -11th. Never had the chance to ride it so I'm hoping we will be able to just this once!

I'm feeling the same way. We will be there in less than 2 weeks, and I want another ride on BTTF, sure it's no Spiderman, but I like it a lot, just my humble opinion!
