Back to school backpacks..

I got the deluxe original for my girls. They are in grade school but will be able to grow into them. Size seems to be the biggest difference in them.. And a few features.
My girls are so excited about them and keep asking when they will get here.

I used to get Lands End backpacks but they have not lasted more than a year in some cases. I actually have a bad taste in my mouth with a lot of Lands Ends products as they really seem to have taken a turn for the worse (strangely enough after Kmart/Sears bought them).

This year we have bought LL Bean for both kids and are looking forward to years of use for both of them.

We have mostly used Lands End for backpacks and have been satisfied with them. LE also has a guarantee and we replaced a wheeled backpack where one of the handles got loose. The reason I prefer LE is that I can return them (even defective items) right in the Sears store. Much easier than mailing it and they let you you return items up to three years old in store (older has to be mailed in...)

Thank you OP for posting this. My son is starting K and I am going to purchase him an LL Bean backpack.

Question for those who already own LL Bean backpacks, do you purchase based on the recommend age? My son is 5 and only the Junior fits into his age category. The others are ages 7 and up.
