Back stage safari

I've been the driver for the Backstage Safari several times. It is pretty cool! :flower:

Did this last January and also had Paul as our guide. It was a great experience and I'd definitely recommend it.

We did the tour in December and it was our favorite event for our trip. Our tour guide was Rachel and she was very good. It was very educational and entertaining at the same time. If you love animals you will enjoy the tour. We had done the safari several times but it was much better on the tour. We learned so much and I have a new respect for all the work behind the scenes to keep the animals healthy and happy.

The Backstage Safari actually ends with a trip through the Kilimanjaro Safari. You get to bypass the regular wait line and board the vehicle at the exit. The story narration is turned off and your guide will talk and describe what you are seeing. It is kind of fun to go through the ride as a regular guest afterwards, having that little bit of inside knowledge.

We have not seen AK yet. First time last time we went was in 96. No Ak. Is there any other hints someone can give me. I am going in May? What else do I want to try to se there is 1 1/2 days good to cover the whole park?

That should be more than enough time---the backstage Safari does take up one whole morning (and I agree--it's well worth taking), but a part of that IS the Safari Ride itself.

The Backstage Safari begins at about 8:30 and runs til noon time. How long you spend there may depend on whether or not you are adults only or going with kids. For adults, other than the safari, the rides would include Kali River Rapids (you can get very wet on this ride) and Dinosaur (extremely bumpy). There's also the Primevil Whirl (or hurl as some like to call it). There are 2 exploration trails that you can walk through for great animal viewing and when you're on the backstage safari, you'll see Conservation Station from behind the scenes. You may or may not want to return to this area to see it from the front. There are a few shows if you are interested in that sort of entertainment. If the park is open til 6 or 7pm when you go, there's a very good chance you could do it all in one day.
