On Sunday I somehow hurt my back. I was brushing my hair when it happened, go figure. I hurt all day Sunday and was achy on Monday but yesterday felt mostly better, that is until I worked out. I did my WATP didn't use weights and did my best to NOT do any moves that I thought would hurt it but within an hour or so after I finished it was hurting again.

So for now I am removing all weight/strength training from my routine until further notice. I will also not do any upper body in my cardio (WATP). And I will continue to take my advil for pain/imflamation. Any other advice? Ice? heat?

I don't think a trip to the doctor is in order yet. As I am doing what they will be telling me. But at what point will it be in order?

And why NOW that I was stepping up my routine w/ strength training is this happening? That's just not fair.

Hi. I'm so sorry you hurt your back! My very favorite thing is my heating pad. I know lots of people recommend ice. But nothing makes me feel better than my heating pad! It's like a good friend! LOL! I get sciatica pain many times a month and after a little while it eases up the worst pain. And then later on or the next day if I'm not dying in pain. I will do stretches. I've learned from past trial and error which ones will help with that pain. I don't know where your pain is but you could look up yoga stretches and see which ones focus on your area that is in pain. Does that make sense?

But taking it easy is one of the best things you can do. You'll be back on your weight training routine before you know it!! Good luck!
