I am 28 weeks pregnant and have been having back/hip troubles the last few weeks. I was told not to return to work until the end of February as I stand all day as a teacher and this exacerbates the pain.

My husband and I have a trip to WDW next week as one last hurrah before the baby comes. I'm not sure if we she cancel the trip or possibly rent a wheelchair to limit walking. Also, I want to do some walking as sitting all day is not good for me either. Is there somewhere we could leave the wheelchair for a bit and then pick it ups when I need it?

I'd love some input.thanks!

Yes, you can park it next to the strollers outside any ride, or just push the wheelchair -- use it like a walker.

Just a note...if you are out of work due to temporary disability (that's what it sounds like) -- you may need to have a doctor's note that you can travel or jeopardize any short-term disability pay you are receiving (or whatever terms for your leave of absense). I could see an employer thinking "gee, you can go to WDW and use a wheelchair, why can't that be done at work?" and challenge you on it. So honestly, I'd get the doctor's input -- the same doctor who indicated you shouldn't work until the end of February.

And to answer your question, as PP indicates, you can park a wheelchair or ECV and walk. Or push the wheelchair like a walker.

Good luck to you and your little one!

For your input. We have pretty much decided that we will not be going. We haven't officially cancelled but realize disney is just not in the cards for us right now. I can see disney just setting me back in my recovery. So sad :sad2:

I think you are making a wise decision. Just think how much fun you will have taking your little one to WDW!

I hope you feel better. Your decision was a good one. I have back problems but had been feeling better for several months and went to Disney World. My back went out while we were there. I stayed in the room and read or watched tv most of that trip.
