High's

OKW accomodation - 2 Bed villa. Massive, loads of room
DDP - 1st time we have used it. (best meals California Grill and Morrocco)
Fantasmic - Great as ever
Golf - Magnolia Course. Loved every hit even though i didnt play the best.
Weather - 12 days of sun. (before last 2 days of rain)
Water Parks - BB/TL never been before and loved them.
Flights - Prem Econ with Thomson. Just as good as 3 years ago.
Q's - No major q's for rides expect Toy Story which we didnt bother with
WDW Buses - No major waits. And they normally seemed to be perfectly timed.
Infant Exchange Fastpasses - Worked brilliantly as this we got to do most rides twice from 1 fastpass.

Low's (not really anthing major but wanted to put something)

Weather - 40+ cm of rain in final 2 day. (but could cope with as rest of time great)
Mousekeeping at OKW - Not upto standard compared to AKL
Having some credits left on DDP (12 QSM & 6 TSM) - More gutting than a low.
Broken rides - Seemed that a lot of rides went down when we were in Q. Test Track, Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, Buzz Lightyear (son upset a few times) But when we spoke to Guest Services a few "super" fastpasses (as my son called them - valid for any ride) later he was happy





Major Low's

Le Cellar - Worst Meal of the holiday. Very very poor service and food only ok. At there 2nd attempt. Refused to pay tip which they were surpised about (Table of 7) Never had to do that before.

After all the reviews i have read it was never worth 1 let alone 2 credits.

We had a similar experience at Le Cellier this year! Poor service throughout the meal, one steak was rare when we ordered medium and our mains took over half an hour to come out, which meant we missed our preferred viewing of Illuminations. We also refused to pay the tip.

How did the infant pass work? We are hoping to use these next week as i want to ride some rides that i couldnt last time we went as i was pregnant

When you go to the fastpass entry you ask cast member for infant a swap pass. Easy as that.

Most of the time my wife and 2 year old were with us. But sometime she was off elsewhere (spending money ) And i still got given them.

Also note they are valid for 3 people. So in effect if you can off load the little one on grand-parents as we could. It was in effect 2 fastpasses for the price of one for us.

We have eaten twice at Le Cellier, 1st time loved it and preferred it to Cali grill(our worst meal). 2nd time last year they tweaked the menu, butter beans with the chicken, we like butter beans but not a whole bed of them. Risotto far too salty, they ruined it for us. No way would I use 2 credits to go back.
What was wrong with Mousekeeping? stayed there 3 times, just as good as we had at AKL.

In regard to mousekeeping it was various things.

Bins not always empted.
Coffee not replaced.
Rubbish bags left outside room for hours. and sometimes when returning from park in afternoon bags outside many rooms in our block. Which i would not expect in any resort let alone a deluxe one
Basket of towels left right outside door so nearly fell over, as not expecting it to be there at 730am
The final morning the mousekeeping CM banging on the door at 8am. (privacy sign on door) Asking when we would be out of the room.
One day towels taken and not replaced.


None of it was a major in its own right, but compared to the great service we had at AKL it just felt poor. We also had towel animals everyday at AKL but we had none this time.

I cant believe i missed a massive high that was La Nouba. (2nd time i have seen it but it was my Son's 1st (Age 5) and he loved it.)

i also love the laundry room in the 2 bedroom villa...so nice to have proper size machines all to myself....

we haven't stayed in a 2BR OKW villa in years, but the last time we did it was for 21 days and it was fantastic....
i cooked a lot on holiday back then, and the kitchen set up there is brilliant!!

i just loved everything about it....the master bedroom and huge ensuite...
the kids bedroom and their en suite.....

it was just a great great great villa.....so much space....

on that visit, we were right next to one of the quiet pools so it really was like having our own private holiday home....

but the kids are all grown up now and married, so OKW is just too expensive to house all 6 of us....i would have to get a 2BR for DH, DD, DSIL and me...
and a separate studio for DS and DDIL...
that's too much money ....
maybe if i win the lottery.....of course, i never buy tickets, so i guess that's unlikely

I totally agree with you we eat here three years ago, was really looking forward to the meal after reading many great reviews about the restaurant and was so dissapointed with our server and the meal, never been back since.
