We stayed on the 25th floor. There were at least two sections. One set of elevators led to the floors up to level 12 and the other set of elevators led up to floor 27 (restaurant on that floor) and the Presidential level. We got a standard room.
I signed up for the Wyndham ByRequest and the only thing I got for it was two bottles of water and a small package of pretzels. Better than nothing I suppose.
As you walk into the room, the bathroom and closet are the first things you encounter. The closet has mirrors on the sliding doors. The hangars are removable and are wooden. The bathroom is standard w/ a tub, massaging shower head and toilet. The sink is across from the closet. There is a door to separate the toilet and bath from the closet and the sink.
There were two large beds w/ a nightstand in between. On the far side was a desk, 2 chairs, second phone and plug in for computers. The television was encased in an entertainment center of sorts. There was also a mini bar/refrigerator in that as well as three drawers. There was also a balcony. Our view overlooked the lake. There was also a padded bench on one wall a few feet long.
I found the friendliest employees to be the bell hops and valets. They were not pushy. In fact, as we were leaving, DH told the bellhop who was bringing the luggage cart up he did not have any $ on him for a tip. The bellhop said that was okay. Of course, I had some $ in the room so he did get tipped =)
You can access your charge information on the television with a wireless keyboard. I also signed up for the internet access ($9.95 for 24 hours) but that was down most of the time unfortunately.
The air conditioning unit was quiet. It did not blow out fast enough at first for me, though. BUT...It worked well and even had to be turned down or off at night =)
Every time I picked up the phone to make a call, whether local or long distance, it cost me $.95 plus tax. Even calls I put on my calling card were accessed that fee.
The bus drivers were friendly and helpful with the exception of one or two. They run every 20-30 minutes at the longest. Sometimes, there would be a row of busses waiting to pick up and drop off passengers. They will take you directly to Epcot, MGM, TTC, Animal Kingdom. The longest enroute time we encountered was when we were first on the pickups for the hotels and the other hotels were after us. It took about 45 minutes to get from the Wyndham to the park. If you have strollers, they go under the bus so you do not have to load them onto the bus. Take the elevator to the first floor to get to the area for the shuttles. We did not know this our first day and lugged two strollers, two kids and a ton of stuff down the stairs from the third floor to the first floor.
Most employees did not volunteer information. You will need to ask about things if you want to know.
When we had problems, someone from Guest Relations or the front desk eventually called to be sure everything was as it should be.
We requested a crib a few days before arrival and at checkin. After returning from dinner late that first night, we still did not have a crib. I called the front desk and a maintenance person brought one up. Several minutes later someone called to be sure we had rec'd it.
Parking was problematic at times. After cruising thru the lot and realizing I would have to park a good distance, I drove DH and the kids up to the lobby to let them out (or DH and one child) then went to park. I usually found one close by that time. You can climb stairs from the parking lot to get to the resort or you can take the sloping drive.
The front desk employees were a mixture of attitudes and personalities. Some were short and snooty and some were really nice. Some were helpful and some were not helpful at all.
We did not use the pool at all so I can't comment on that. There is a fitness center the guests can use but we did not access that either. We also did not eat at any of the restaurants. We found "Chevy's Fresh Mex" in the Crossroads and it was super! There is also a Red Lobster, Olive Garden I think, McD's, Taco Bell and more. A 24 hour grocery is located in the center there as well as a Character Corner shop. Down the road from there is a Denny's I believe, Shoney's, Sizzlin, etc.
As for specialized children activities, I do not think they had any. It is a short walk to Downtown Disney, though, where kids have Legoland and such to amuse themselves with.
Hope this helps someone and let me know if you have more specific questions.

I thought the Wyndham by Request program waived the charges for internet accesss and for calling toll free numbers.

Wyndham ByRequest membership did not even waive the resort fees for me like I have read for others. I mentioned it more than once too.

I was waiting to see you post about the hotel since I will be there in May. Did you show your Wyndham By Request card at check-in? I was hoping to get the extras like the others who have been there. :)

I still have not rec'd my card. I did give them the # via email, fax and in person. Didn't help much though.

Bummer on the WbR! I usually call the hotel directy and let them know my number when I make a reservation through Priceline. I've also always gotten what's in my profile, wine and fruit plate. However, I've never stayed at this Wyndham.

Thanks for the review!
