We just returned from the most wonderful vacation I have ever had. It was myself, my DH, & our DD almost 2. We took her for her 1st trip before baby #2 comes this fall. We stayed at POP & were so pleasantly surprised. It was the perfect resort for our DD. It was crazy hot, 33-40 degrees everyday.
Day 1-Arrived in the aft. DD played in the Goofy Waterpad for a bit, her fav spot, & then we headed to DTD for some dinner. Cookes of Dublin was amazing & my DH & I had way too much food & could have easily shared 1 meal. This was by far my fav quick service meal.
Day 2-Breakfast at Chef Mickeys for Mothers Day. DD was dressed up like Minnie as the playhouse characters are her fav, but lo and behold she was frightened of the characters
Meal was ok. We had DDP so we didn't care too much. For us, it was about going to as many places for our DD. Headed to MK for the morning, very busy. Headed to AK for the aft. which was relatively busy, not too bad. Had dinner at POP food court as we were too tired to go anywhere.
Day 3-Blizzard Beach. Our DD hated it here & we left by noon. Had dinner at Le Cellier. So yummy. At Epcot our DD encountered her 1st princess & fell in love. The rest of the trip she was princess crazy
Day 4-Booked an extra night at hotel as we are having way too much fun. We go to HS for the day. It was so hot that day we hit every show we could. This wasn't our DD's fav park & we didn't need to return. Headed to Epcot again for dinner at Chefs De France & do some attractions prior to our meal. The meal was fabulous. I was able to do the 3 course prix fixed menu even though I was on the DDP.
Day 5-MK for the day. This was our DDs fav place. We had an early dinner res at 3:40 & she stayed awake all day & fell asleep 5 mins before our meal. The food was mediocre here & it was unfortunate that she slept through the meal, as we booked it for her, but we still got pics of the characters pushing her stroller.
Day 6-AK for the day. We pretty much did everything by 3pm & headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner at Teppan Edo. Our fav meal of the week. Our DD taught herself how to use chopsticks. Its a hard restaurant to sit at w/ a little one, but it is our fav so we had to go at least once.
Day 7-Last full day. Spend all day at MK & then take monorail to Epcot & got a last minute res at Akershus for 8. So we head back to hotel to get ready for dinner. Dinner at Akershus was not good & I couldn't even eat my food. But our DD loved the princesses soooo much, which made eating bread for dinner totally worth it. The only other negative point of our meal was near the end. We were seated near Belle, where the pics were taken, & once there were no more little girls, we saw her face completely drop, voice change, & heard her say "10 more mins & I'm outta here". Now I know it must be very draining & she was probably very tired, BUT if any other little girls had seen that, it could have ruined their whole perception of a princess.
Overall, a great vacation! The best one of our lives. It's funny how kids do that to you
We had so many people say that we were crazy for taking our little one & should wait until she is at least 5. To them I say, their crazy. Our DD had the time of her life, & while she won't remember, we always will. We plan to return in fall 2010.
