Just back, may 3-7, now I know the true meaning of hot!! Lessons learned....
1.Bring pool shoes! Scorched my feet on the first day trying to get in the water!
2.Requested smoking for dh (who I was trying very hard to impress) 11 months ago, didn't get it, rooms full. How about a few more smoking rooms?
3.Four lights not working in one bedrm. Disney cutting back on lightbulbs to save money?
4.Artist point could only give us a ps for 6:15 or 8:30. Took 6:15, a better time for us, but a bit early. Restaurant was 90%empty when we arrived, at least 35% empty when we left! Can't really understand why we couldn't get a 7:00-&:30 ressie!!
5.Still love the vwl, that music they play on your way in is great! Met lots of very nice people!
6.Make a parent's day...tell them their kids were well behaved if they sit next to you in a restaurant. One mom almost started to cry when I told her this, said it had been a long week in the heat with the kids, and I couldn't know how much it meant to her to hear that!

I usually buy pool shoes for my dd10 but I wasn't going to this year. Thanks for posting. I've changed my mind.

Thanks Again,

MAC3, you'll be glad you spent the $ for those shoes! I see you're from MA, we're from NH. Not at all used to that kind of heat! I think it's cooler now, hope you have a great trip!!!!

Thanks for the great list, especially #6. Those are the little thoughtful things that most of us don't ever think to do and can really make someone's day. I remember getting good comments about my kids from time to time and how good it felt.

Thanks for the reminder!

yes maryp,

I'm sure I will. I buy them for her every year. Last year she kept taking them off her feet so I assumed she no longer liked them.
To tell you the truth, I'd rather her have them than not. She will put her foot on the pavement once and never take them off.
We are from Billerica Ma. I'm a native Methuen girl, we also end up in your neck of the woods from time to time as we are campers.

Thanks for the info,

We have noticed this at other places too, specifically Boma at AKL. What I THINK is they only have so many PS 'slots' for each time period and when they're gone, they don't take anymore. So while they may be out of PS slots for that time, the restaurant may not necessarily be full. They don't take as many PSs as they have tables.

We've found that sometimes you have better luck just showing up at the time you want to eat without a PS. You run the risk of it being busy, but you may get it. It's kinda like fastpass - you may get there at your time and find the standby line empty anyway.

WDWguru, we tried that Monday. Called for a ps at Citrico's, wanted to try GF. We were given a 5:15 or 8:30 ps. We declined and took a ride over to see if we could get in. Guess what? Citrico's is closed on Mon and Tues!! Interesting!!

ROFLOL! Boy, it sure sounds like somebody was confused! You'd think they'd know when their restaurants were OPEN when taking PSs, huh?
