Back from VWL and the Swan

We spent 7 nights at VWL and 2 nights at the Swan. VWL 1BR unit was very clean, no bugs, water pressure just o.k., a/c was fine. Only complaint was that I found the bed to be a little too hard as I ached every morning. We went to the July 22 Member Day BBQ but it was cancelled unfortunately. We did get the pins and went to Atlantic Dance and heard Tom Wolber (?) who is VP at MGM I believe, speak about how MGM came to be, etc. It was interesting. Not many members stuck around for the dancing to the DJ which was too bad because it was fun. I think it would have been a big success if they had just moved the BBQ food into Atlantic Dance, then everyone would have danced and ate and had fun. It was too bad really. ARe there any activities for young children at the member BBQ? Don't want to hear the "B" word (boring) from my six year old.

Glad you had a good trip. I think someone else mentioned recently they had requested one of those foam egg carton things to put on the mattress as it was too firm for them. Just an idea for that next trip!!

The Hollywood, FL part of the trip was fantastic. The Westin Diplomat and Spa is a great hotel. It was two pools, one with a waterfall. It is right on the ocean. The rooms had large bathrooms and comfortable beds. We had an oceanfront balcony. I'd go back to that hotel in a minute. Highly recommended.
Since the BBQ was cancelled, I didn't get to experience any activities. The only activity that we participated in was the Atlantic Dance part which the 6 year olds had a blast dancing with themselves, others, and just about anybody on the dance floor.
I will definitely try to remember the egg crate mattress suggestion for my next trip in April. Thanks for reminding me!

It's great that you stayed at the Diplomat. My MIL worked there for many years singing in the lounge back when it was a popular spot for people from the other Hollywood to hang out. She has some amazing stories.

It is a truly beautiful hotel. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
