Back from Vistana- two week trip cut short from Frances

Had to leave Orlando Friday night before the hurricane hit. Had a great time. This resort is fantastic. I see now why it goes for so much on Skyauction (not unusual to go for $400 + the $210 in fees).

Just wanted to let you guys know my report is on the Trip Reports Board.

Feel free to read it there. Thanks for all of your help. This board helped me more than anyone to plan this "spur of the moment" trip. Even though it got cut short to one week instead of two, we had a great time.

btw....looks like skyauction will let you choose a week from Findweeks in RSG

having the next calendar year to use it will be like having a vacation in the bank....we were able to get the same resort and accomodation yesterday with Skyauction since it was available in the findweeks, we just had to request it....by the end of the day we were confirmed and it appeared in our "Vacations"

We were to stay at the Polynesian Isle this week, but due to hurricane Francis it was canceled. Skyauction sent me an e-mail to alert me of the change. Today, I called Skyauction to rebook, thinking it was going to be awhile before they could find me a new trip. To my surprise, she told me to look at the current auctions and see if there was one I would like to replace mine! I immediately picked a weeks stay in a 2bdr. at Sheraton's Vistana Resort. She immediately sent me a e-mail noting the change. 7 days at the Sheraton's Vistana Resort for $211! It was that easy. Now I just pray that there are no more hurricanes.

That is wonderful that you were able to switch to Vistana. You will be very happy there. When are you going??

Our situation is a little different. We aren't planning to go back until Nov./2005. We have a big trip planned. Two weeks (probably at two different condos), buying AP's for five, all the Christmas stuff, etc. I am asking them to let me substitute for that week. I don't know if they will do it. We'll see and I'll keep you guys updated.

I have been very happy with Skyauction. Only one negative. The operator is horrible and I think she needs a WDW vacation. If I get transferred to the operator, she is always rude. Otherwise, it's been great.

Glad it has worked out for you. I hope Skyauction is in business for a loooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnggggggg time, because this will allow us to go more often. We already are planning to return the next year (2006) for one or two weeks in May and two weeks in Oct/Nov 2006. This will not happen without affordable accomodations. Six weeks in WDW within one year would be an outright miracle for THIS family. I hope it works out.

We are scheduled to arrive Oct. 3rd. I can't wait! I agree about the operator. She is horrible. I finally asked for the lady's extension that I was in contact with so that I would not need the operator to connect me.

glad you were very happy with Vistana - I will be there Thanksgiving week and I don't have alot of hope for a great room - being that it is a holiday and the owners will probably be there - but here is hoping.....
