Any last words of advice, things to bring?
We have a golf cart, lots of sunscreen, a pretty good plan if I do say so myself :)

Hahaha! Sure would be fun to meet you.
Of course something I noticed missing on my list other than fun is BEER. Just seeing your name reminded me :rotfl:

Can't wait!!!! Here's my list of extras:

Power strips, laundry soap and dryer sheets, alarm clock, bug candles and spray, barbecue tools and lighter, laundry bag, lights for around the deck, beach towels, small flashlights.

See you soon!!!!!

Sharadoc, did you get my PM ?? Are you all getting excited for our movie night??

Just read it now! Yes, I'm getting PUMPED UP for the trip. A friend from work will be there at POR with her family and she's coming over that night, too. Now that the schedule came out, I don't think we'll want to hang around for the movie - National Treasure 2. Don't think the kids will care about it.

Our plan is campfire and sing-along, then beach for Water Parade and Wishes.

Can't wait to see you guys. Any DISers are welcome to stop by on August 19 for our FW campfire meet. :thumbsup2

Yikes, I've half started packing, only stuff we haven't been using for the summer here. I have a ton of stuff to do still! National Treasure 2 is the movie? Hmmm... we've seen that like 3 times. We may swim instead, then do beach for water parade and Wishes also? Thoughts? Or maybe if its a F! night we'll swing over there, then we don't have to worry about it another day. I guess we'll have to do some more investigating. And here I thought we were done investigating/planning :rotfl:

I thought it would be fun just to go...do the campfire and sing-a-long. Then head over to the beach and watch the Fireworks. It will all depend on my daughter if she is under control. If she shows any signs of being tired even the non-noticeable ones then we are heading back to the cabin.

The movie list is a sticky at the top of this board. The time we're there is not TOO exciting - some Pixar and some newer live action ones. I don't think we'll be watching too many movies this trip.

The timing from the campfire to the beach is good, I think. I believe the water parade will be at 9:45, then Wishes at 10, so we should have enough time to get there and relax. I did read somewhere that you can hear the music from a shack on the beach, but not sure about it. Hopefully we'll find it when we're there.

I can't believe the trip is so close. I can't wait !! :yay: !!

My van is going in this week and getting serviced. Next thing off my checklist. Van is already vacuumed and we don't plan on using it too much in the next week or so. Our hotels have been booked there and back (for a while now). I have boughten some snacks, juice boxes and juice. We just need to get something for hubby and I to drink (other than water). We are making our meals on the road except for supper. what am I missing??

Do you have a DVD player or something for the kiddies to do? I just bought me, I mean the kids :lmao:, a DS...

We have dual screen dvd player and a game-boy advanced. Plus I have case for my older two kids that has activities for their age, some things to read, colour/doodle...etc.

It sounds like you're all set then :)
I have so much to do :scared1:

Good luck with that! I took mine in last week for a quick once-over before the trip, but we needed four tires and an alignment. Cost me almost $600! Right out of the Disney trip fund - now we're cooking a few more meals in the cabin.

At least we have the option of cooking, so it won't impact our trip much.

Our van has some good Disney miles on it. We had to put a new transmission after last trip. It has new rear shocks and a new muffler and exhaust pipe...rack and pinyoin with a front alignment.

I can't wait to hear how your trip goes. I was thinking about staying in a cabin, but it ended up being cheaper to stay at a value

Maybe I'll get ambitious and write a trip report. I'll have to take the laptop with and do it in the room or I'll forget. With a family of 5 a value wasn't an option and the ASMu suites were sold out. We were going to cram into POR, but then when free dining came out we switched to cabins and saved some money that way. There was a $700 difference between buy 4 get 3 free and free dining. After booking the cabin we still saved $100 and got and extra night out of it, whoopie!

Sorry, just had to jump in here - we're leaving in 5 days!! Driving down and arriving on the 12th. We've had to reschedule this trip so many times, I can't believe it's finally going to happen! Because of this uncertainty, we haven't told the kids yet that we're going...it's making me crazy.

I can't really pack or they'll be suspicious - so I'm just making list after list - and hoping that'll make the packing go easy. I think we'll have to tell them on Sunday - they'll be really excited - they think we had to postpone....

So, we'll be there from the 12th through the 16th (second part of the trip we're heading over to the Beach Club because the Cabins were full). Hope to see everyone there!

BTW, National Treasure is a really great movie - especially for 'tweens - not a cartoon, but very family friendly....
