Just got back from a Labor Day weekend trip last night. Just wanted to let everyone know that we had a great time. The resort was great once again! The first building in Carousel is getting close to being finished. You can see the blinds and curtains hanging in most of the rooms. They are well along in planting all the landscapping around the building. They are definately into the final stretch of construction.
Even though our trip was short, it was definately a Great Family trip!
We did leave the Disney on a semi down note. We went to EPCOT for lunch at Living Seas and to ride Soaring before we had to leave and go to the airport. Lunch was great, first time for us eating at Living Seas. We loved the place and wonder why we haven't been there before. After lunch, headed over to Soaring. Using our fast pass, we walked in and promply got on Soaring....no wait!! Since lunch and soaring went so smooth, we had an extra 30 minutes. We decided to ride Spaceship Earth...we love Spaceship Earth. Its one of those rides we like to hit on every trip. Well, soon after we got on the ride that is when our Very Happy weekend went south. There were 4 teenagers/young adult in the car behind us that were being a bunch of punks. They were loud, rude, crude and all around jerks. They kept throwing food/candy at the other passengers within range and at all the displays. Unfortunately for them they hit my wife in the head.
When we got to the end we told the CM's at the ride about the incident and confronted them about thier actions. To our surprise the employees and security took the situation seriously. The kids were removed from the park. The managers that we on duty thanked us and made sure we did not miss our flight. After security came (and lots did) we found out that one of the punks was a seasonal cast member (and soon to be former). We were surprised that none of the other passengers did not say anything. We were also surprised to the level of response from the Disney employees/managers and security. We were told that there are lasers under the ride that if one of the pieces of food had fallen and broken the beam, the ride would have been closed for hours and we would have been stuck on the ride.
We were really pleased on how Disney responded to the incident. Which helped put us back in a better frame of mind. Too bad it turned a perfect family trip to a great family trip.
