We started our stay at SSR with a laugh. The guard welcomed us home and told us to head to.......................well, he forgot. He stuck his head out of the booth, looked at the sign and said "Carriage House." :teeth:

We had two studios booked. DS arrived the day before we did and was right down the hall. Much to our surprise, he told us that the rooms had a great view of Wishes. Sure enough, at 10:00pm, we stepped out on our balcony and watched the show.

The studios were great. They were lockoffs and neither of us heard our neighbors at any time during the stay.

I don't know if it's due to its proximity to Downtown, but SSR is really lit up at night. It was so well lit that it didn't attract bugs. (I've had some bug battles at the doorway at OKW.)

There are a lot of frogs around. We were on the top floor and we had some ambitious amphibians climb the 4 stories to the balcony. ::yes::

They combined the OKW and SSR buses twice. Once was after E-Night and once was when we left Epcot. Other than that, the buses were fairly empty.

I had myself waitlisted for the Member watch. They take your name and the date that you made the request.

DH enjoyed both pools. He "planned poorly" and needed to do a load of laundry. From the sounds of it, there are quite a few machines for studio guests to use.

They're making incredible progress with the construction. We never were bothered by noise.

Overall, it's a nice relaxing resort, which is just what we needed.

Got home late last night to 200+ emails, so it's back to reality. :(

And where were you staying :)!!? Thanks for sharing your comments about SSR. Interesting observations about the lights & bugs ... for some reason it doesn't work that way back home :).

Thank you for the report.

I'll be there the day after tomorrow!!!

Thanks for the report. I'll be heading home in October, hoping to make a request for the springs. susan

Judith, I think that it's so bright that it "tricks" the bugs into thinking it's daytime. It's not like normal evening lighting with dark spots. There are lights everywhere. Being that I hate bugs, it was great not having to run past the critters.

DUH! I didn't post the room numbers, did I? DS arrived on the 5th and had 1832, we arrived on the 6th and had 1836.

The rooms do overlook the bus stop. Just beyond that is a lake with a fountain. You also have a clear view of the construction. At first it was "oh well, not a particularly great view, but what can you do?" It's not something that we obsess about. Being able to see Wishes was a pleasant surprise. :D :D :D

thanks for the info. we're going home in september and can't wait to see the resort.

Thanks for the great report! I cant wait to see it for myself in August!

It's funny they have the frogs. There used to be a lot of frogs/toads around in the evenings at OKW. I didn't particularly like finding them hanging off the door when I came home at night (2nd floor). This was in the Turtle Pond area while South Point was being built. Maybe construction "stirs 'em up"?

Thanks for the terrific report on SSR and the discovery about the fireworks.

Glad you enjoyed your stay!:earsboy:

We didn't have any problems with bugs while we were there either.

We did see the frogs though. Not near the room, but on the walkway to the Marketplace side of DD.
