Back from our very first trip to WDW!!!

What shirts did you use? and what transfer paper did you use?

Melanie

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::lmao:

Amy your stuff looked amazing, I uasually just stick to light transfers, and have never had an issue, but those 4 park mickeyheads from Natalie looked amazing!!!!! on the black shirts. I think I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and try a dark shirt with that disign and your transfers of course!!!!!:rotfl:

Why are my questions so funny to you guys? Is there a joke that I'm not aware of? What is so funny about wanting to know the brand of t-shirts and transfer paper she used?

Melanie

Sorry.

Wanting to know the brand of t-shirts is not funny (BTW the tags look like Jerzeez), but wanting to know what transfer paper she used is...

Because Amy sells transfer paper on her website.

I bought some myself....still haven't used it, but I will sometime in the next 47 days!!

Sorry for laughing. Will you forgive me???:flower3:

Melanie,
I'm sorry if we offended you, it's just that Amy aka M_I_C_K_E_Y has her own website that she sells the best transfer sheets. And these transfer sheets are talked about constantly on this board. They truly are the best and most everyone that is making their own shirts is using them. It also says this in her signature. So when Tom made his post it just struck me as really funny that you would ask Amy which transfers she used. Again I am sorry if you felt that we were poking fun at you. It just literally made me laugh out loud when I read it. But to someone like me, (who is on this board posting and disigning everyday) the transfers that she would use is common knowledge.:cutie:

No one offended me at all, I just didn't know why is was so funny. I get it now. I am new to these boards and knew that there were "Amy's transfers" out there, but I never put two and two together. Thank you for telling about her website and transfers.

Melanie

Amy! Oh my goodness, everything you did is beautiful! I love how everything turned out. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
You definately put a little time into all the planning! So, I hope the tripped topped the planning? How was Pop Century? What was your favorite park? character meal? Enquiring minds want to know...

and most importantly, how would you compare it to our beloved DL?

Wow Amy....you did an awesome job! Sounds like you had a great time on your trip. We went for 7 days in March and I was exhausted for 2 or 3 weeks so I can imagine what you are feeling. But its all worth it!!!!:goodvibes

Amy - how exciting. I am glad you had a great time. It is so neat you saw one of your DISigns. :goodvibes Rest up and don't push it as you want to stay healthy. :flower3:

Thanks Penny - I haven't done much since I have been home. My son came home with a bug of some kind.

Wow I had no idea that you had never been to Disney World, I hope that it was all you imagined and I am looking forward to seeing your pics. Like you said it is nice to put a face to a name:goodvibes That must have been really cool to see your disigns on a person! I am hoping to see some on my trip in Sept.:yay:

We have been to Disneyland many times but this was a first trip to Walt Disney World for all 4 of us.

Can't wait to see your pictures! How cool (and weird and awesome and strange!) to see one of your own designs at WDW on someone!!! :thumbsup2

I was very excited because I didn't think it would happen. And for it to happen only an hour before we left - I was thrilled!

Welcome Home :) I can't wait to see pics , now we know why you have been missing in action ;) Sounds like you had a great trip.

I wanted to tell everyone but just felt more comfortable waiting until we returned.

Glad to hear you had such a great trip! I didn't realize you had never been either! Are you already planning the next trip?

Can't wait to see pics! Definitely cool that you saw one of your designs! Too bad you weren't able to catch up to the family. I know I would love to run into one of you all in the World! :cloud9:

We are not planning anything right now - still too tired to think of any vacation plans.

Hi Amy
welcome Home Hon!
Sounds like you had a great time.
I'll be watching for a "Trip Report" and
some great pics. Darn I wish you could
have met the people wearing your
design. Well maybe next trip;)
Great to hear from you,,,Hugs Hon
Mel

Well, I do not really know how to do a 'real' trip report - but I will hit on some of our highlights.

Amy,
:cool1:
So glad you had a great time. I can't wait to hear about it. I'd love to live it vicariously through you!
Welcome home!

Thanks Kari - more coming! Did the kids get the postcards we sent?

We were there May 24th through June 1st. We were proudly wearing our AMYMICKEY iron on transfers too!! I have told so many people about your site and how well your transfers hold up versus the other store brands!! Thanks again for such a great product!

You were there the same time as me. Just think, we could have crossed paths at some point. You are very welcome for the transfers.

Sounds like you had a great trip. I can't wait to hear more about it and see pics. :thumbsup2

More coming soon... I am flattered you are here Wendy - your trip report is one of the only ones I ever read all the way through.

Glad you had fun!!! I can't wait to go!!

We had a blast!

My trip is in November and hope it is as wonderful as your sounds! I will be hoping to see some of my DISigns too. I already spotted my St. Patrick's Day Mickey heads on I-Love-Disney.com.....that was weird

Marion, that is so exciting that you saw your design on the site - did they give you credit?

Hey Amy!
It was awesome meeting you! You have such a great family! We still have our littles candies ya'll gave us. Hotrod refuses to let me eat them because they are "momentos". I didn't see any of my disigns but I got alot of potential customers lol.

That is so funny - it sounds like something I would say!

I'm counting on it.....................

Hi - Natalie! Did your kiddies get their postcards we sent? I cannot thank you enough for all you did to help me make this trip special for my family!

I love all your shirts, but my absolute favorite is the 4 park design on the black shirts. I would have never thought of using black. It looks great. :thumbsup2
I am flattered that you read my whole TR. We're leaving in 10 days but I don't think I'm doing one for this trip. Way too much work! :rotfl:I hope you write one though. I would definately read it. :thumbsup2

I love seeing all of your stuff. Great ideas.

Thanks!

Everything you made turned out terrific! I really enjoyed reading this thread and you have shared some great ideas. Thankyou.
I am glad you had a good trip.

I hope that my tips can help someone else - because that is how I learned - reading everything I could!

What shirts did you use? and what transfer paper did you use?
Melanie

I got the shirts from jiffyshirts.com. They were the Jerzees brand. I got the 50/50 ones because they are so soft.

We chose all lighter colored shirts because of the high temperatures in Florida. For some of the shirts, I would have chosen a little different color if I didn't limit my choices to lighter colored shirts. But I was happy with the results.

Tom, you are too funny!

Kelly, you will love the dark transfers. The colors are so much more vibrant. Those shirts were my favorite as well. They took the most time to cut but were not difficult - just time consuming.

We like Pop Century a lot. The theming was very fun and the kids loved that there were 3 pools. They had to try them all!

I do not know if I can pick a favorite park - they were all neat in the own way. The kids would probably say one of the water parks. Hubby would say Hollywood Studios - more on that later.

The character meal we enjoyed the most was probably The Garden Grill. The character interaction was great and the food was so delicious!

Comparing WDW to DL is hard. I loved that there was so much more to do in WDW but was a little overwhelmed by how much. There were many rides at WDW that we went on, that the kids or I would say - 'that is better at DL'. There were many things we loved about WDW, like seeing the Country Bear Jamboree again, the Hoop Dee Doo, the countries in Epcot, etc... But when it comes down to it - I think I am still a DL gal at heart.

Wow Amy....you did an awesome job! Sounds like you had a great time on your trip. We went for 7 days in March and I was exhausted for 2 or 3 weeks so I can imagine what you are feeling. But its all worth it!!!!:goodvibes

Oh please tell me that this exhaustion will not be hanging around for that long.

Amy
You shirts look great :) I can't wait to read more about you trip

Thanks Veronica!

Hi Amy!

They got them yesterday! They were BOTH very excited!!! Danny carried his around all day!

Everything you made for your trip looks Fantastic! I can't wait to hear more about it!

Good to know! We are staying offsite in October; I am in town for a convention. We do plan on reserving one character meal, so I'll add this to the list of possibilities. Can't wait to hear more! Mattie

Amy,

I am in love with your t-shirts!!!
I am in the process of finish our shirts now for our trip next week.
I haven't seen Natalie's Jedi Mickey Star design on any of her sites.
Would you mind posting a copy of it or pointing me in the right direction?
My son LOVES Star Wars and we are going to SWW on Sunday and I don't have a shirt for him for that day yet.

Thanks!

I guess I should tell you first - the cast of characters were my hubby, my DD 12 and DS 8 (days away from 9) and myself.

May 27 - Super Shuttle picked us up bright and early at 6:20am and off to the airport we went. The flight went well, the kids were very good and quiet. Now if only we didn't have to use the bathroom so many times! ha ha

We got in around 4:00 pm Florida time (losing 3 hours was quite an adjustment). We took the Magical Express Bus. We all enjoyed the cheesy little movie on the way and it sure made the time pass by quickly. Loved the collapsable feet rests!

Checked into the hotel (Pop Century) and headed out to our room. We were on the third floor in the building just behind the Big Wheel. We loved calling out all the items we passed on our way. Yoyo, Twister, etc.. It was very easy to find our room and by the end of the trip the kids were taking turns leading us back and forth from our room and the lobby/buses.

We dropped off our carryons and went back downstairs to eat. We really enjoyed the dining at Pop Century - the parmesan chicken with salad and breadstick was our favorite! After filling our bellies, we headed out to Epcot.

There was a little rain while we were on the bus but it stopped by the time we got off. Perfect timing! It was probably around 7:00 by the time we got to the park. We got ourselves a PhotoPass card and got our picture taken with "the golfball". My son continually called it that, even though he knew the real name - just to be crazy.

After taking a few pictures at the entrance, we went on Spaceship Earth. The kids absolutely loved it! They, of course, loved that their pictures were taken and inserted into the movie at the end. They both did crazy faces and we all laughed so hard. My hubby and I sat in the car behind them - so we got to see their movie as well as our own. My daughter had her hands up by her head and it looked like she had antlers. Very funny!

After the ride, we headed back to find a spot for Illuminations. Of couse, stopping for pictures at the fountain first! The area was already filling up but we found a spot next to the ferry dock. There was a really nice family sitting next to us that shared their area with us. The seats were probably not the best seats in the house, but we could see well enough. It was such a perfect way to start our trip. I loved the fireworks, although my son thought that they were too loud. I really liked the earth and all the effects - very cool!

On our way out of the park, my daughter found a huge snail in one of the planters. She loved playing with it. (Even though I would not let her touch it - yuck!) She loves all living thigs and she was so entranced with the natural wildlife we saw during the trip - snails, bunnies, lizards, spiders, birds, ducks, etc...

We went back to our room and to my children's surprise, there was a cake waiting for us. It was a simple cake that said "1st Trip". It was very yummy but there was no way we could eat it all.

Off to bed at around 11:30pm - which is only 8:30 pm our time but I know how early the morning will feel!

I hope all of this is not too much information. I am not sure how much you all want to know.

Love your TR.....popcorn::

The exhaustion and the Disney depression was what I had for 2 weeks after. Here's hoping it doesn't last as long as mine did. Now I just live through everyone elses TR. Keep it coming!!!

Amy,

I am so happy that you and your family got to go. I still use your designs I got from you years ago and it is so cool you got to see your design at the parks. They are all over the place and people have been blessed by your work. I love your first report and pics. I can't wait for more!
