Back from our cruise early, with sad news!

[We were having the most magical trip, when I got a phone call from my daughters at 2 this morning that my mother had passed away last night. Linda and Eilean were incredible - one helped me pack and the other, with great travel connections, managed to get airline seats from Madeira to Lisbon, Portugal to Newark and finally to Boston tonight.
One more day and we would have been at sea for 5 days with no hopes of getting back then.
Please keep us in your prayers. As many of you know, my mom was exactly 2 months shy of her 100th birthday. A grand woman so loved by so many. Her name is Carolyn Demers, and once they all knew i would be home, made her plans for a wake on Fri, and her funeral on Sat - sadly, 1 day short of Roger's third anniversary. I believe her obituary will be on Thur. at masslive.com.

Caroline, I can't express how very sorry I am. Your Mom was an amazing woman. It must have been doubly difficult being so far away and not sure how quickly you could get home.
