Well, 1st let me start off my saying the IL's loved OKW, they had never been, but we won't be inviting them again anytime soon. *sigh*
We were in 3215/16. GREAT location. Right behind the Turtle Pond bus stop, and not too far from the Turtle Pond pool. Our back patio was over looking one of the holes on the golf course, on the water. SPLENDID. If you are tracking room locations, this is a keeper.
What a week! I guess we are just the type of family that needs to be by ourselves, and not have to wait on other people. MIL needed an ECV, so the wait to load and unload her onto the busses was a bit frustrating for the kids (not to mention, I felt bad for the families wanting to get to the parks, the busses at OKW take long enough, without waiting for a handicap load). If you were one of the many people who my MIL ran over with her ECV, please accept my apologies on her behalf, because she certainly wasn't handing them out.
The day we did Epcot, my FIL got lost, we searched for him for 90 minutes, DH and I gave up and allowed MIL to go report him missing (we needed help at this point, because we could of walked in circle until nightfall, he does not know how to use a cell phone, so he did not have one) While MIL took care of that, the kids were starving, so we headed over to USA for lunch. On the way there, got a call from MIL to say FIL called her from USA. Yaay! Found him! Had lunch, then seperated. DH and FIL took kids to Mexico and Norway, while MIL and I shopped in UK. Planned on meeting at Spaceship Earth. MIL and myself got there, called DH, found he was on his was to Mexico after Norway, so we hop on Spaceship Earth, get off, call DH again to see were he is is at, and he is now searching for my 4 yo DS. HUH? Gone, lost, poof. I run to lost and found(right at Spaceship Earth and they discover that DS was turned in at the babycare center. (ok, anyplace other than Disney, and I would be in a padded room). Some very nice people found him, calmed him down and brought him to the babycare center. When I got there, Danny had a little fan club coming to check on him. (I guess two groups helped him out) If you were one of them, thank you from the bottom of my heart. He was shaken up and scared, but not more than I was. We all headed back to Spaceship Earth and then got the heck out of Epcot. LOL.
We did a good job predicting the crowds and staying clear of them. We went to Typhoon Lagoon Friday, and the place was EMPTY. No lines ANYWHERE. It was GREAT. The wave pool had a maximum of 30 people in it at one time. It helped that it was the coolest day of the week, but we didn't care, the water was heated, there were no klines, we were good to go!
Cooking the Turkey in the villa was a great success. It really felt like Thanksgiving!
All in all, the trip was fun, we just are not used to having other people with us. I don't know if I could ever get used to that. Good to know for future, if I decide to invite people along, I will know to have them make their own itineraries.
