We just moved to North Carolina an could not wait to go check out HH. We spent 2 nights and it is a wonderful resort. The weather was cool...60 degrees or so. The kids braved the pool one time and I braved the hot tub. We rented bikes and rode to the beach house which was really nice. We had the whole resort to ourselves basically. We did the campfire and saw the magic show. The kids did the Japanese fish painting thing and really liked it. I can see that this would be a great time when the weather is warmer. It was so relaxing and pretty. Any questions...just ask and I'll try to answer.

Hi, Glad you had a great time. We are hoping to visit HH this year. Is there lots to do for kids? Also, I heard that the feel of the resort is a lot like Wilderness Lodge Villas - is this true?

Thanks.

We are headed to HH at the end of May. Did you have to pay extra for the resort activities, i.e. the magic show and the fish painting?

That's one resort I'd love to try. Did anyone in your group golf? Dh loves golf. Did you do any of the nature walks or any of the birdwatching they talk about? How long would it take to walk from the outermost buildings to the main building? Where did you rent the bikes? How much did that cost? What about the health club-tell me anything about it. Sorry to hit you with so many questions.

OK...there are lots of things for the kids to do...both planned activites and swimming, checkers , ping pong, etc. The magic show, the unbirthday party, and the campfire were all free. There were also things on other days that were free but we were only there for the long weekend. The Gyataku fish painting on t-shirts was $10 per child--they keep the shirt obviously. The resort is small..5 minute walk from one end to the other. We rented 2 bikes for $50 for the length of stay. Doesn't matter how long your stay is for that. The health club looked small but nice. We didn't do any of the nature walks or birdwatching this trip so I can't comment. They did have some guided things though on the beach and on the marsh. As far as the feel of the resort I guess it is closest to VWL than any other DVC but it is slightly different in that it is the lowcountry. Very relaxing! Hope I helped.

Great information, disneydawn! Thank you! I think my 5 y.o. DS and 8 y.o. DD will love the unbirthday party, and how nice that there is no extra charge for it! We are really looking forward to seeing HH! It sounds like the resort has a lot to offer!
