So, sadly:sad1:we are back from our trip to the most magical place on earth!! Weather was perfect, cloudy and cool in the mornings and sunny and warm - not too hot - in the afternoons. I think we saw temps about 26 - 28 degrees Celcius. Perfect summer weather for a Canadian!!:cool2: I think I may do a trip report as I think it would be too long here but if you have any questions ask away! I went with my DH and my twin DS aged 11. Stayed at the Park Vue Inn in a bunkbed/queen room. Was really happy with our stay there. I did a detailed review on trip adviser so check it out!:surfweb: Just a few quick thoughts off the top of my head. As reported before, there aren't a lot of photo pass photographers around which I found to be a huge disappointment. We saw 3 or 4 at the same spots each day. In front of the flowered Mickey just after the turnstiles, in front of the castle in the evening, at the beginning of mainstreet facing the train - where the Christmas tree is in the winter - and over at DCA in front of the bridge. We were there for 7 days - in and out of both parks and these were the only ones we saw therefore I'm not sure I am going to purchase the photopass cd as we only have 4 different shots of our family. Oh and they were in Mickey's house of course. Little Mermaid lines were short. TSMM was still and always was a 45min wait, didn't matter what time of the day we went by it, but totally worth it!:3dglasses. DCA was crowded to get around because of all the construction. They did take the wall down the day we left for the new turnstiles - it looks beautiful. WOC was a huge disappointment. Not the actual show but the way they have the lines and they way they pack you in like sardines etc. I won't go on as I know many people love this show but I will not return to see this show untill they figure out a better way for people to see it. Never in my life have I met so many rude and inconsiderate people and won't be back for the LONG wait and see nothing...Anywho I will move on...Got to ride the Matterhorn before it closed - we loved this ride! FP are the only way to go with ST. the lines are waaaay too long at all times of the day(80mins). Tomorrowland was VERY crowded and hard to get around, we tried to get everything done there at once then avoided it at all costs. Got to see the Fireworks from the hub, they were good but not great. Kids loved when Tink and Dumbo flew! Loved seeing them from the hub, makes a huge difference to the show.Fantasmik is my absolute favourite show! Stood next to the middle light tower, worked like a charm. Lined up about 1/2hr before the 10:15 show time had perfect view. Aladdin was fantastic, don't miss this show - the genie is to die for!! Ate at Big Thunder BBQ- was the best food I have had for a long time! We would definately make this a must everytime we go. Ate at Corn Dog Castle - expensive and overcooked - not good. Saw Dapper Dans - they were great and Billy Hill and the Hillbillies - loved them - super funny. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the Soundsational Parade. Loved the floats, the music the themes - was perfect in my books. Brought back alot of childhood memories for me. And Mickey was AWESOME playing the drums!!:lovestruc Didn't like Goofy's Sky School at all, too jerky for myself and DH but kids liked it. Again I have to say, the Tron part of DCA just doesn't belong...I don't like how there is drinking there and don't like the atmosphere, its not family orientated and I think it takes away from the park. We avoided it every night so we wouldn't have to deal with it. The one night we were there, the police were there with a group of drunk youth and it was totally inappropriate for a place like Disneyland. Loved the Muppet show, again that whole nostalgia thing. Roger Rabbit, totally not worth the long line. Enjoyed Haunted Mansion - much better than the Christmas one! Crowds were heavy but not unmanageable. Make sure you have your own camera and don’t be shy to ask someone to take a family pic of you, we are all in the same boat when visiting DL!!I learned alot from this trip and the biggest lesson I learned was that no matter how much and how detailed you plan things, you have to be able to be flexible and go with the flow sometimes!! - something I am learning to do!!:lmao:

Just a side note, we ordered pizza to our room from Round Table- a suggestion from the a poster on this board - it was delicious and inexpensive, also arrived quickly. We also ate at Bubba Gumps - again, fantastic, we would definately go again.
We also closed the DL on 2 nights - what a neat feeling! There is nothing quite like being one of the few last people on the Disney streets at night!

Thanks for the reviews! (I read your trip advisor one as well..) We will be staying at the Park Vue for the first time Aug. 5-10. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great trip, I think we h ave about 10 days until we leave.

Thanks,

Jack

I'm so glad you had a great trip! Just wanted to thank you for your Park Vue review on tripadvisor. After doing WAY too much research on hotels, I made a reservation for our October trip. It was great to hear all the details, thanks again.

I'm wondering though, does Park Vue still have free water bottles in the lobby?:confused3

You're very welcome:)I'm glad I could help! I hope you have a great experience at the Park Vue like we did. I did WAY to much research too!!:rotfl: I had heard about the water bottles but whenever we went into the lobby there were not any water bottles out but 2 big jugs of ice cold juice and cookies or donuts. I did not ask as we had purchased 2 cases at Walmart when we picked up groceries.

Wow, we were there about the same time! We arrived on the Matterhorn's last day so we got to ride that. We also went to Bubba Gumps on Thursday the 14th. What day did you go? I had on my LGMH but never saw any. :sad2:

In the afternoon we found TSMM to be about 35 min. In the morning the line was much longer and went down the path AND all the way through that inside room with the fans.

Next time you do WOC, try the hydrant trick. I learned it on here and we had an amazing view for the second show without dealing with the crowds. We were back behind the crowds AND also had an easy exit after the show.

We were there at the same time too! It was a fabulous week to be in Disneyland. Great weather and manageable crowds most days (Tomorrowland aside).

We had similar frustrations with WOC. My thought is that their slogan should be "World of Color-It's not for short people". We lined up over an hour ahead of time and still had too many people in front of us. I should have scouted out the fire hydrant ahead of time but didn't think of it in time. Sigh.

I had my LGMH too but did not see ANYONE! :sad1: And funny thing, we were at Bubba Gumps on Thursday the 14th as well!! We were there for supper at about 5ish! Thanks for the tip on WOC, I did think of it while we were there but couldn't find it - I wasn't 100% sure where it was and there were sooooo many people!:headache: I do think that Disney needs to fix this though, I mean everyone who wants to go wants a great view and the way its set up just doesn't make it possible. I have never been disappointed with anything Disney before, but this does it for me for sure. Its too bad we didn't "bump" into each other!!:)

It was a great weather week:cool2: I didn't think the crowds were too bad either for July. Heavy but not crazy - except for Tomorrowland!! I agree! It gets very congested there! Yup, I'm short too and I like your slogan!!:thumbsup2 The family behind me - the mom and daugter were short too and they didn't see a thing either. It doesn't help that you have people butting in front of you - and I mean RIGHT in front of you just as the show starts and won't move even though you had been standing there for 20mins positioning yourself, your family and those around you so that you are all able to see...:mad::mad: but I digress...yes, it is definately not meant for short people!!:lmao:
Other than that though, we had a wonderful week and even with the crowds we didn't experience anything else that was negative!

Wow! We were there 5ish too! We were inside, in a booth about half way back. Kind of across from a wall with a window that looked like a house. There was another family that came in after us and sat in the booth next to ours. I believe they had two children with them. That wasn't you, was it? :)

We sat in a booth as well, trying to picture where exactly it was...it was about half way back, not quite as far as the windows. Hmmm, I sat facing the way out so I didn't really get a good chance to see what was behind me in terms of the rest of the restaurant. But we do have 2 kids - they are twin boys. Not sure if you heard one of the waitresses(sp?) making a big deal out of 2 boys who look like Justin Bieber??? She came to our table and called them the Bieber twins and was quite loud and making a big deal about it. My boys were totally emabarrased!!lol!! You have twin boys as well don't you?:cutie:

Wow again! We have twin boys also! So, I would have noticed if you were near us, because I tend to notice other twins. Ours are almost 18 though so not so many people ask if they are twins anymore. I didn't hear the waitress say that because I definately would have noticed that. :rotfl: Too bad we missed each other. Two LGMHs passing in the night... :rotfl2:
