Back from Grand Floridian last week

Wife and I planned a romantic getaway to the GF over marathon weekend which happened to be our anniversary. It was unbelievable

Checked-in on the 11th and learned that we had been upgraded to Magic Kingdom view in Boca Chica--8523--this dormer room was so awesome. We were given happy anniversary pins upon check-in, and every cast member who saw us wished us a happy anniversary--very cool.

After a few hours at the MK, we went to Narcoosee's for dinner. When we were seated we had Menus that said Happy Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. ________. After an amazing meal, we were treated to a complimentary champagne toast. Then back to the room where we found a complimentary bottle of champagne on ice scattered with rose petals and a signed picture from Minnie and Mickey. And, things just got better from there. The whole trip was one of the most magical I have ever had.

Wow, that's really cool how they gave you all of those extras. The menus with your names on it is very special. Plus the champagne and rose peals and picture in your room! Happy anniversary and glad you had a magical trip!

Congrats on your Anniversary. We are going to The Grand Floridian next Friday and was wondering if you saw any construction in the Lobby? I have heard rumors about them putting in a new marble floor. Was that the case when you were there? Any information is greatly appreciated.

What a wonderful anniversary! The Grand staff is just wonderful - I'm glad it was magical for you. The GF is my favorite place on property, and for good reason.

Someone reported on the GF FAQ that most of the construction is done/on hold for now. They have put temporary carpet down until the marble is received to finish the floor, and the lobby is supposedly back to normal for now. Whenever they receive the marble, I'm sure there will be more ongoing construction, but it sounds like they don't expect it to arrive immediately.

The barriers around the lobby were taken down on the 14th-15th with new carpet installed...

We love the GF! Spent our 25th anniversary there but did not receive all that you did; a card from Mickey & Minnie - but it was still wonderful!!! Happy Anniversary!!!!
