We got back in the early hours of Saturday morning and had a truly magical time. I am working on doing a proper trip report, plus I've got a ton of photos that need downloading from my digital camera, but for now here's a couple of things that came up while we were away.

  • Absolutely scorching hot while we were there. 25 degrees C plus and not a cloud in the sky. Burnt necks all round because we didn't take any suncream - we've never needed to before! Think I may have got heatstroke on the second day (felt ill all evening after having to take an ice cold bath to cool down) and had to buy a new 'Grumpy' baseball cap next morning to stop it happening again.

  • New Buzz ride is superb. Way better than the Florida version. The targets light up if you hit them, so you know you're pointing the gun in the right direction! Probably rode this 8-9 times in our four park days.

  • Crowds on arrival day (Monday) were big, but this was the end of a long weekend of public holidays in France. Rest of days weren't bad - busier than many midweeks we've done before, but queues were still manageable (e.g. 40-50 mins was typical for BTM, though we always Fastpassed it).

  • Saw Tarzan show three times. We had only seen it once before and thought it was really good, but this confirmed it. It's a must see if you haven't done it before.

  • Ate at Cafe Mickey and Plaza Gardens for the first time. CM was fun, and unlike a previous trip to Innoventions where the characters ignored us because we didn't have children, they did make a effort for photos with us here.

  • At PG, food was good but service was abysmal - we'd both been up (seperately) for food before our drinks order was even taken. When they did arrive, no glasses for our large bottle of Vittel, so Erika had to swig from the bottle! Trying to pay the bill also took a good ten minutes.

  • A handful of the hotel restaurants have now gone 'buffet style' in the evenings, including our previous fave, Hunters Grill at Sequioa Lodge. The new menu isn't bad, but we miss the old 'meat on a skewer' style of service!

  • Stayed at Hotel New York. Rooms were quite large and well decorated. Apart from the last day when a plumbing incident in a room across from us flooded the corridor, so that we couldn't get to the lifts to check out (had to use the stairs), no real complaints.

  • Staying at HNY also gives you a free Fastpass per person which is great. However, you only get them for the first three days of your stay and we didn't realise until too late that they had the dates printed on them. We didn't take them into the park on our first afternoon, so it meant we never got to use that day's. The other two days didn't get wasted though!

  • Some really great views from Panaromagique. I went up but Erika thought it swayed a bit too much for her liking and stayed on the ground.

  • Easyjet flight on the way back was meant to leave at 22:15 (local time) but was shown on the screens as being delayed until 1am! They did manage to get a plane from somewhere else and we eventually took off at 23:45, but the pilot had to speed up because no-one could land at Luton after midnight due to runway repairs. He managed to beat the deadline by a few minutes - if he hadn't we'd have been redirected to Stansted!

More will get posted I'm sure as I remember it!

Welcome home Steve :wave2: Nice to get a quick summary.
Look forward to reading more and seeing the photos :)

hi, welcome back.

wondering if they have changed the free fast pass system as we were given 3 each which we could use at anytime during our stay.

Welcome back Steve. Lovely to read your report and looking forward to reading more, plus of course seeing the photos.

I'm still undecided about where to book for my daughter's 21st meal whilst we are there, trying to cater for the other two (plus me) isn't easy!

Welcome back Steve. :wizard: Glad you and Erika had a great time, looking forward to hearing more and seeing some photos. :)

Glad you had a good time Steve :goodvibes Looking forward to the full trippie and photos!! :teeth:
