We arrived Jan 27th and stayed for 5 nights, not the trip I had planned as dd 5 and I both got sick, but we had an ok time. (I'll try and get to a trip report) Of interest is the following:

1. DLH was great, asked for a coffee pot at check in and had it delivered within an hour.
2. asked at check in about an autographed pic for the kid, and when we got back to the room a few hours later we had a message the kid had a "special delivery" at the front desk, an autographed pic of the princesses in front of the castle.
3. Goofy';s kit, ok, but not great, Ariels grotto great, can't wait to go back.
4. Monorail only goes one way from dtd to dl by way of the gc hotel,
5. Staying on site still gets you ee each day they offer it, but they don't tell you that......

any ?????'s I am happy to answer.

I am sorry you both got sick...that doesn't help make a great vacation. But it sounds like for the most part you had a good time, and staying at the DLH is always fun! We will have to give Ariel's Grotto a try sometime.

Sorry to hear you were sick. Great to get an update, I have booked Goofys kitchen and Ariels Grotto, I'm blowing the budget a bit, as I don't know when we will get back to CA

Same thing happened to me when I was young (my 1st trip to Disneyland). Even worse, I am so worried that I'll go sterile! (mumps). I stayed at the hotel the whole time my family & cousins were touring SoCal.

I still want to go back even I just went there. I wish we have a theme park here in OR.

I´m sorry you got sick. Glad you loved Ariels Grotto, it seems to get very mixed reviews. I just made a PS there for 2 of my DD´s birthdays (they´re 4 days apart but celebrate together).

Nothing worst then getting sick and then you have to push yourself thru the parks, so everyone else can still enjoy the trip. ;) Sorry to hear you were not feeling well.

since the monarail only runs one way, was it a very long walk back to the DLH ?

How did you find out about the EE ?

What didnt you like about Goofys Kitchen ?

sorry for all the questions we leave during easter, crazy, I know, but that is the only time we can go during the holidays :goodvibes

and we have never been to DL, we will only be there 5 days and only planning on getting a 3 day hopper.

If you have any other info to pass on , that would be great. :thumbsup2

The monorail is on a special "one way" route right now because of the building of the new Nemo ride in the sub lagoon. But, that doesnt mean you can't ride it from the park to dtd or dtd to the park. It means you can't ride it in one loop and stay on. You have to get off at each end, and reboard-waiting in line if there is one. It runs the same 1/2 loop, back and forth, rather then in a big circle.

Not the OP, but went to Goofy's in Oct. We didnt think it was great. We werent overly impressed with the food. It was ok, but not as great as some reviews would have you think. And the character interaction, which is what you are really paying for was not what I expected. We saw Goofy, Aladin, Snow White and Donald. They all rushed through, and seemed ready for break. They danced once or twice, but we couldnt see it from our table-could just hear the music. We had to ask for Donald to come back to our table, as he visited with grandma and grandpa while we were getting the kids some food. They acted a bit annoyed at our request.

If you get to the end of your three days and need more time you can upgrade your ticket / add days on. Right now its about $20 for 2 more days. But it does depend on what you paid and what the current deals are. Just be sure to do it on before the end of the 3rd day. If you try to return on day 4 and buy the upgrade they will more then likely say no.

Sorry to hear that you were sick while you were at Disney. I have one question. Is coffee supplied with the pot, or did you need to bring your own coffee and filter? Thanks.

It's terible when you get sick on vacation. I hope you're feeling better now that you're back. My daughter got sick on our first 2 trips to disneyland. The first time she just turned a year and the last 3 days of our trip she began spiking a temp of 103-104 degrees. (I was so glad we had a rental car so we could get some mediceine and see a doctor, she had teh flu). The second trip, she was about a month shy of her 3rd birthday, and was running fever and coughing the last 2 days of our trip. We came home and took her to the doctors to find out she had pnuemonia. On our last trip in Oct, I made sure to bring every medicine imaginable and luckily everyone was healthy throughout the trip. Now, I can't imagine not having a rental car when on vacation.
I'm glad to hear that your service was good at the DLH and that you enjoyed it despite feeling under the weather. I'm also gald that you were able to enjoy the princess character meal. My daughter loved it as well. Hopefully you'll have a chance to go back soon and enjoy the parks once again.

They do supply the coffe with the pot, so you don't have to take any.

I have a question for you about Ariel's grotto. We will be dining there in one week (wish it was today, as I watch the snow fall out my window, there's at least a foot out there!). Do you remember the food choices? The only menu's I found online were older.

I am so glad to hear that you liked it. With such mixed reviews, I was getting nervous.

Once DH and I were at WDW (before kids) and I got horribly sick. It was the worst to be away from home and sick. I think it was the only time he heard me actually say I wanted to leave WDW ;)

Thanks for your input!

Thanks! We have had a lot of rain until today! My kids are in their glory!
