I was in room 250 that was supposed to have an Illuminations view. Well I was never in my room during Illuminiations but there were very tall trees in front of the balcony so I'm not sure I would have seen it anyway. It is also on the back service road, with the door closed it was ok but trying to sit out there it was loud. Also a very long walk from the elevators.

I found the BCV a long walk from everything. If you wanted a drink at the BCV pool you had to go to Hurricane Hannah's which is in front of Stormalong Bay, a nice walk :(

It was close to the International Gateway which was nice. I think I would chose the BWV over BCV.

I stayed in 257 (I think), I had a great view of the access road and the trees blocked the view of the fireworks. It was a long walk to anything except the side parking area which could easily be reached via the emergency stairs. I have an infant (9 months old) and a three year old so the distance was an inconvinience. But hey, I'm on vacation, the last thing I'm going to do is be annoyed by factors out of my control.

We are scheduled to return this coming Thursday for 3 nights, I am sure to be a bit more selective on the room selection when I check in.

I forget my room number, but I was also on the second floor with the Road View last month. No signs of EPCOT, but plenty of horns blaring and engines revving. I spend a great deal of time enjoying my balcony, and it was not possible to get any peace and quiet out there at all. I changed my February reservation from BCV to BWV, and have no plans to return to BCV.

That said, there were some things I loved about BCV, but IMHO they just weren't worth the tradeoff.

From my room I could see the top of the Land bldg.

I'm sure the rooms that face the pool or other areas are probably alot less noisy.

Another thing I forgot was that you couldn't set the air conditioner lower than 68 degrees. It got a little stuffy during the night.

I was just there last week and I was in a two bedroom room #553. This was an Epcot view and what a view during Illuminations. It was beautiful. I could also hear the music from Epcot. The balcony was a long one. Overall nice room the only that got confusing is that me and my husband ended up in the closet alot of times due to so many door in the bathroom. I think next time I will go back to OKW for December and BCV for the summer for Stormalong Bay.

Sorry it was a long walk to everything! I know WDW is alot of walking and it doesn't help if your room is off in the outskirts of the resort!

I was in rm #339, overlooking the inside of the horseshoe part. Very quiet, and I sat on my balcony alot. Could hear the music from Epcot. Often, when I was in my room, I'd leave the door open to the balcony for the lovely backround music, although it was very far away. No road noise.

We were in 157 last Saturday (Dec. 7th). It was a lock-off 1 BR that looked out at the service road. It had a small concrete slab with 2 chairs on it as a little porch.

I had several complaints about the room. First, it was a pretty long walk for my father-in-law, who has a broken foot, even though I specifically told member services this at reservation and check-in. The room reeked of cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking room (I don't blame DVC for this, just rude people before us). Also, there was a very obvious chip (about 2"x2" that showed exposed metal underneath) in the sheetrock on the corner of the wall between the bath and master BR (once again, not DVC's fault, but you'd think housekeeping would catch something this obvious).

We only stayed 1 night before moving to OKW, so we did not ask to be moved (we were also in a hurry to make PS @ Hollywood & Vine for lunch). The service road noise didn't bother us, and I knew that's a chance you take when requesting an Epcot view, so we have no complaints about that.

All in all, our stay was OK. We enjoyed the hotel and surrounding area immensely. The Beach/Yacht Club/Boardwalk location is fantastic. The walk to Epcot was great.

Since it is our home resort, I'm sure we'll stay at BCV again. However, next time I'll be more picky about the room selection and I'll make sure to free some time to inspect the room so we can ask to be moved if it's not suitable.

To sum it all up - the resort is beautiful, the location is great, the surrounding areas are great, but our particular room was less than great. C'est la vie. We'll know better next time.

Hi ChadM last Saturday (dec 7) I had room 159 and it also reeked of cigarette smoke. I called the front desk and they moved me to room 149 due to non smoking for medical reasons, my son has asthma. I called the front desk and they moved me even after they had told me that it was sold out but either way I would not have stayed. 149 was nice but I would not like to stay at ground level because it is to easy for the kids to disappear...

I have just added BCV as my 2nd home resrort and everything i hear is about 85% bad. It will be disappointed if my stay is not like staying in the beach club resort. I loved our stay when i bought my first dvc at the WLV and i added the BCV when it was avialable because our stay at the beach club was great . last summer we stayed at the BWV and our 1br was fantastic. It was the last room on the 5th floor but the view was worth the walk. I liked that it was a double wide balcony that over looking the pool and into MGM. I will be at the WLV for x-mas and new years. I leave on the 20th and cant wait.

Someone told me to take the complaints with a grain of salt...don't worry about the Beach Club Villas not being enjoyable. The complaints that I have read are pretty much trivial...I don't think you can expect to find these problems when you visit. I plan on going and making up my own mind - and I am very optimistic. I hope that you have a wonderful time. Sandie

I just want to make it clear that we had a good time and enjoyed our stay at the BCV. The problems we had were pretty minimal and we didn't ask to be moved. If we were staying for more than one night, however, I would have asked for a different room.

The problems we had were mostly not the DVCs fault. However, I will say that housekeeping could do a better job of being aware of some of these problems. Like I said in my earlier post, there was a serious chip in the sheetrock of the bedroom that was very obvious as soon as we walked in the room. It didn't really affect my stay one way or the other, but it didn't look very good for a brand new resort. Also, if we can smell the smoke in the rooms, why can't housekeeping? It hit me like a ton of bricks right when we walked in. Surely they know which rooms are non-smoking (it says so right on the door) and could take extra steps to eliminate the smell.

We had a good time at a great resort, but were disappointed in the room itself.

FWIW, I absolutely loved BCV. Of the 3 DVC resorts I've stayed at -WLV, OKW, and BCV-BCV is definitely my favorite. Before I went, I had promised myself that I'd try all of them, meaning that BWV would be next, but after staying at BCV, I'm afraid I'd be disappointed to try any place else. When I hear these negative comments, I'm thinking "Oh, good-more rooms available for me when I try to book!" (Shhh-don't tell DH-he absolutely loves OKW and won't try anywhere else.)

Just as a follow-up I called the BCV and spoke to an Operations Manager named Dave. He was very nice and we had a pleasant conversation about my issues with the room. He basically told me that anytime there was a problem, no matter how small, it should be reported. He said that they would go to any reasonable length to fix the problem in order to make our stay better. He also said that guests' comments help to keep the property in better shape because the housekeeping staff can't always catch everything.

He was a nice guy and it was refreshing to hear someone talk about wanting to do whatever it takes to make our vacations better and keep that property as beautiful as it was intended to be.

I want to clarify something, I would stay at the BCV again. It is a beautiful resort. Just wanted everyone to know that room 250 was a long walk. And because the BCV's are behind the regular Beach Club, you have a longer walk to everything.

Also when I checked in they asked if I wanted a smoking, non-smoking or smoking optional room. Maybe 159 is a smoking optional room?

I think some of these BCV post clarify for my why I LOVE OKW! I don't like hotel hallways, and OKW is so much like a home, I don't have to worry about that!

I have not stayed in our home resort (BCV), yet. I keep hearing reports about the temperature being too hot at night. I am wondering if I need to bring a fan! Do I need to worry? I can't sleep if it is too hot in the room. Of course, we will be there in less than two weeks, maybe the temps outside will be cold.....

DaisyDebbie,
And because the BCV's are behind the regular Beach Club, you have a longer walk to everything.

Don't they have any cool short cuts for us to get over to EPCOT, at least?

Not sure about the other resorts, but OKW has ceiling fans in the bedroom. We are usually there in January, and have not had a problem. I think it is usually cool enough out that time of year that you could try opening a window or deck door.
