My son and I were at BCV earlier this month for five nights. First night in a studio then four more in a 1BR. After that the rest of the troops joined us at the Polynesian for 5 more nights.

One day there was a letter left in the room advising us to remove any personal items from the balconies (we had none there) as they were going to be cleaning some of them. The morning we checked out we saw a guy using some kind of power washer which obviously used some bleach.

Also observed a gentleman painting the trim in the hallways. That has to be a never ending task with the beautiful light trim.

Still haven't seen the alligator! Saw lots of turtles though including one with lots of algae on his shell. Does anyone know if this is harmful for him?

Our rooms were both very clean. We had a great time!

I've never gotten a note under the door at OKW advising us of power washing...that's nice. But I do know they seem to power wash the buildings at OKW with that chlorine/bleach smelling stuff at least once one every trip we've taken. DVC really does do a tremendous job with maintenance :)

I kow some folks seem to take issue with DVC maintenance, but I have never encountered what I would consider to be an unacceptable room. I also feel that the grounds, and outside of the buildings are well0cared-for too, especially when you consider the numbers of peole that go through a resort in a given year.

The one time when I did stay in an OKW 2BR that was a little "tired"...not dirty, or with multiple broken things, but just a spottier-than-normal carpet, and some worn furnishings, I mentioned it, sort of as an FYI, to Housekeeping, and I got a follow-up call one week later thanking me and informing me that the room had been taken out of service and rehabbed. I was impressed.
