DH and I just finished our first DVC stay and can't wait to go back!
Due to availability, we were unable to get a full 8 nights anywhere so we split it up with 4 at BCV, then the next 4 nights at BLT LV, both 1 Bedroom villas.
We were lucky to have our room ready at 10:30AM! It was a beautiful 1 Bedroom with a view of a quiet pool directly in front and the lobby driveway to our left. The proximity to EPCOT and the ease of getting to Hollywood Studios was great. The room was well appointed and had everything I would have needed to cook a meal (if I did cook on this trip...lol). I did think it was funny to see how many doors there are to the bathroom...so many doors in such a small space! The lack of a full length mirror and bad lighting for makeup and getting ready in the morning would be my only complaint (if you could really call that a complaint.
Would I stay there again??? YES!!!
We made the drive over to BLT early so that we could get our key cards and use the dining plan for lunch. To our surprise, we were given a room at 10:45AM!!! This one bedroom was a lake view with a view of the Contemporary and Marina, with the Grand Floridian off to the right. This room was awesome! The living room/kitchen/dining room was huge compared to the one at BCV. The bedroom was very nice and having two bathrooms was really great. Again, there wasn't a full length mirror and the lighting in the bathrooms was even worse than over at the BCV room. We liked having the monorail so close for hotel dining and EPCOT and the easy walk to the Magic Kingdom.
The complaint: BEWARE IF YOU HAVE FEATHER ALLERGIES!!!!!
The throw pillows on the couch are feather! We were not aware of this when we checked in, and although we indicated on our reservation that I have this allergy, called in 4 days prior to arrival and told the front desk when we arrived that I had the allergy, NO ONE, knew that these pillows were feather...not the Front Desk, not Member Services and not Housekeeping. We spent the first day in the parks, didn't use the living room and when I woke up, I felt very congested and was wheezing (I have asthma), we attributed this to the cold weather and I took my meds. That night, after getting ready for dinner, I sat on the couch and started itching very badly...I pulled the throw pillow from behind me and pulled a feather from it. Housekeeping had my husband put the pillows in the hallway and they came while we were at dinner and shampooed the couch and left a huge blower in the room to dry it out. Make sure you leave a note on your reservation to remove the throw pillows if you are allergic to feathers!
Would I stay there again??? YES!!! I already have May 2011 and Oct 2011 Booked!!!
