back from BCV and Polynesian

But... but... what will become of Moana Mickey's Fun Hut? Not that I've been in there in 20 years but still...

Thanks for the Captain Cooks replies. I really appreciate it. DGS is looking forward to coloring his holiday picture and having the CMs display it on the wall again - a fun activity for the kids.

I think it's not quite like the AKL's machine at the CL.
That one cost over 20K!!!
Another LL returned and said it was like a Necafe service station type machine.
But, she said it was good!

Thank you, I appreciate the further details. I think in that case I'll bring my own machine. I will include a review of the espresso machine at the Polynesian Concierge in my fourth review when I get back.

Pretty apparent I take this stuff seriously! :p

Wait time? Don't care.

Weather? Don't care.

My luggage hasn't arrived to my room after 2 days? We have plenty of flower leis.

Bad coffee? END OF THE WORLD!

It's time Captain Cook's was sorted out. Let's hope they sort the service too. This year was our first trip to the Poly (August honeymoon) and all the areas and CMs we encountered were wonderful, especially the CMs at Kona. However the service at Captain Cook's was terrible as were the manners of the CMs who worked there (and yes, we did try it several times and each time was just as bad). Service was slow, CMs were not overly friendly and on occasions the food was cold. Let's hope the renovations bring improvements all round.

BVC23,

We are doing your combination of hotels over the holidays unless I decide to go to the Dolphin over the Poly. Any thoughts? I have stayed at the Dolphin before and love the Epcot area. That' s why we are also bvc dvc members. I have always wanted to stay at the Poly although I would prefer to do it in warmer weather than late December:) but kids schedule just doesn't allow it this year.I will be paying those high end holiday rates if I stay at Poly but if it is worth it ...............then I don't mind. I'm just worrried about having Epcot resort area withdrawal even though we will be at the BCV for 4 nights. Any thoughts. Thanks:):):)

Boardwalk Tigger, we love the combination of BCV and the Polynesian.

The Polynesian has that magical view of Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant. The grounds are beautiful and the atmosphere of the resort is so relaxing. There are so many great restaurants on the monorail circuit....Kona, V&A, Citricos, Narcoossee's and California Grill. It is fun to ride the monorail or the launch:boat: to dinner. You can also pop on the bus from the TTC to go to Hoop Dee Doo or WL. Be sure to view the Christmas decorations at the GF. We like taking the launch to the GF for lunch at the Cafe after a busy morning at the MK. Transportation at the Polynesian is simply the best on property and we think the magic is unsurpassed.

Any chance you can check in by the 19th to snag a value season rate?:teeth:

At any rate you have chosen wisely!::yes::

We just got home today (10/30) and Captain Cooks was open during our entire stay.

Debbie

Thanks BCV23,

We can't come in until a few days after Christmas :( so the rates at the Poly at insane over $600 a night with taxes for only a lagoon view. I really don't want to be in the parks for New YearsEve so I thought we could at least see the fireworks from the Poly!!!!! I like the Dolphin too and got a much better rate although it is double of what I paid last year at the Dolphin for the exact same time period. Crazy rates this year! Can't wait to go though.......:):):)
