We just got back yesterday from another great trip to Walt Disney World -- 8 nights - 6 nights at AKV and 2 nights at BCV. The crowds werent too bad and the weather was great!
We checked into AKV on March 1. We had an immaculately clean 1-BR Savanna view overlooking the Arusha Savanna (Room 5307). We spent most of Saturday just gazing out at the giraffes and zebras on the savannah.
I was surprised at how quickly the construction next door at Kidani Village had progressed since our Dec 2007 visit. Every single building in the backward 3 shape is now under construction, whereas in December it was only the buildings in the lower section of the backward 3.
Kingdom Towers appears to be progressing well, although all the DVC folks I spoke to refused to talk about it. I heard the sales guides telling prospective members not to count on it.
On Friday, we moved over to a Studio at BCV (Room 327). It was very clean, and the only wear and tear I saw was the carpet. Everything else looked great. It gave us a pretty good view of the fireworks of Illuminations. The two days at BCV, the weather cooled down, so we skipped SAB. However, we walked over to Epcot, where we spent most of our time on Friday and Saturday.
We had some great dinners at Jiko, California Grill, and the Hollywood Brown Derby. We also had some great breakfasts at Boma and Cape May Café. We also visited Beaches & Cream a couple times!
We tried character dinners at the Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern, and The Garden Grill. My wife absolutely hated The Garden Grill, as the chef couldnt accommodate her food allergies. The most accommodating of the character dinners was Liberty Tree Tavern. While she loved seeing the characters, she didnt like the food selections for her (she has seven food allergies).
Then, the worst part of our trip -- we had to come home! However, its only 48 days until our cruise on the Disney Wonder, followed by 3 nights at BWV, so we have something to look forward to!
