Babysitting services in Anaheim?

We are travelling to DL over our anniversary and DH wants to go out to dinner just he and I the night of our anniversary; obviously we would need child care (hey, tv in the room is a nice distraction but not exactly trust worthy as a baby sitter LOL). Are there any companies in the Anaheim area that actually send babysitters to hotel rooms? We are staying off site (BW Anaheim Inn) so I'm assuming if any of the on-site hotels have such a service, they are for guests of those hotels only.

The in room services are private companies regardless of which hotel they come to. Call your hotels front desk to get their list of recommendations.

I've been looking for this also. My husband and I would love to take the Walk in Walt's footsteps together without kiddos. Sounds like a drop in day care would be a huge business there.

We have used Fullerton CHild Care a few years ago and were very satisfied with them.

I have this dream of being a Disneyland Nanny so parents could enjoy a nice dinner together, a few hours alone for the big kid rides or a tour. Sounds like my little side job might not be such a silly idea after all. :)

We use Pinocchio's Workshop at the Grand Californian. I don't know if you have to be a registered DLR hotel guest, though.

Just looked this up: it's only for guests staying at the hotel (we aren't) and for kids who are 5-12yrs old (ours are 5 & 3). Looks like an awesome place to drop the kiddos off though! Maybe something to think about for our next Disney trip when our kids are a bit older!

We are using Fullerton in Aug when we arrive for the DLR 1/2 marathon weekend.

Our sitter's name is Joanne; we've spoken on the phone a few times and we will be meeting her prior to her taking our kids. She says she lives 5 min from the park and sounds willing to do what it takes to make us comfortable.

The kids will still be sleeping when she arrives and hopefully when I'm done with the 10K!

We've used Sitters Unlimited twice in the past year for our DS6, and have been very pleased with them - enough that we plan to use them again this fall.

I keep threatening to get a sitter instead of taking the kids to Blue Bayou for dinner, every time they act up at a meal. Now I can follow through on the threat.
:thumbsup2

We are staying on property so the one at the Grand Calif is an option, but it just seems expensive. Does anyone have an idea of what these outside companies charge and if there is a minimum (like 4 hours, etc)?

Awesome!! I found them online and emailed their Anaheim contact some questions. Thanks!!

I can't find my notes right now but I think that Fullerton was $12/hour with a minimum of 4 hours; both kids included. It's certainly more than I'd pay the high school girl who watches my kid back home, but o well.....

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

$12/hr for 2 kids sounds about on par with what we pay here at home, so I'm glad to hear it's not like $20/hr! 4hr minimum though...hrm....not sure we'd need that long. I haven't heard back from Sitters Unlimited yet.

4 hours means going out for a nice dinner, then some adult adventures after. Take in a movie, do the big rides together, wander the stores in DTD, go for drinks at HoB.

$12/hr for both kids sounds reasonable - a bit more expensive than a high school student, but that is fine. The place at Grand Calif is around $13/hr per child... so it is a bit pricey with 2 kids. I probably would go for it if no other option is available, but the thought that the kids could go to bed at their normal time (and the cheaper rate) makes the outside sitter service more enticing! Thanks to everyone for your suggestions.
