Baby's kicking

Have you had the moment of panic yet? The one where you realize, "OMG, this wriggling thing is going to have to COME OUT!!" I clearly remember my moment...it was in a board meeting...I almost hyperventilated. Good times! ;)

I'm so excited for you!
Umm...actually I panicked when I saw the plus sign on the pregnancy test. I started pacing in the bathroom, saying, "Oh my god oh my god oh my god, labor is going to hurt!"

Thanks girl. Dan and I are incredibly, unbelievably excited about our little package. He even talks to my belly...it's so cute! :p

Congratulations! Enjoy this special time.

I felt DS4 move for the first time on what would have been my great-grandmother's 100th birthday (she passed away at age 95). I absolutley loved that time when he would move around and kick :cloud9:. I told the OB/Gyn that it was one thing I was really going to miss.

DH loved seeing DS move around. We both would comment on the Spaceballs scene in the space diner that parodied (sp?) Aliens. The little alien inside the guy would move around before bursting out and singing, "Hello my baby, hello my darling..." We would just sit there and laugh :rotfl:

Well, maybe I'll experience it again soon. DH and I have been trying for #2 and think we may have done it. We'll see next week if we are expecting again (ohh, I pray we are).

I can feel the vettechiclet right now! If I lean over and my belly presses down on my pubic bone she gets really active. Probably telling me to straighten up!

And she's runs me ragged at night! It's a very cool feeling. :teeth:

I was in shock when I first tested with DS. Of all the times, I decided to test right before church :teeth:. Well, it was positive and I had called DH over practically panicking. I had to have him read it b/c I wasn't sure I was reading it right!

I was worried about labor too. All I kept thinking of was that something so small went in and is going to come out the size of a watermelon!

When my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart, we left for the 20 minute ride to the hospital. Prior to this, we were trying to get a hold of my doctor. The office kept beeping her, but she never answered (turned out they were paging the wrong number). We finally gave up and headed out. I was in active labor most of the day at home, but in the hospital, I was 4 hours. I can't stand needles, so no way was I going to have an epidural. I didn't mind having drugs through the IV though. Gave birth to our son and only found out the next day that I'd given birth to him without any medication except what was given to me to keep my hydrated (what?!) :goodvibes

My labor didn't feel that bad. I had a lot of friends praying for me and believe that helped me out a lot!

Looks like there are quite a few April 2007 babies on the DIS (I am due April 12 with #2 - and it is a boy.)

He is super active, especially in the evenings.

Wendy - It's an amazing feeling. Alex isn't kicking strong yet, but I feel him moving around and some very light thumpings all the time. I feel him multiple times a day. Sadly, doesn't seem as though he sleeps all that much. He is up every few hours for a while!!! I can't wait to get a strong HIT and I can't wait until my DH can feel it from my belly.

I can't believe how much I am growing too...

Can't wait to meet him. He is our first!!!

Very cool, don't you love it! With my first 3, I felt the baby much sooner and much stronger. This time around, I don't feel her/him as often at all. But all babies are different.

You can say that again! My first DD was quite the mover and the shaker inside and still is today. My second DD just kind of laid back and took it easy inside and still does that at 8 months. Very cool feeling!
:cool1:

No way, Mal! We had the chance two weeks ago and I made it VERY clear to the technician. I practically grabbed her shirt and said, "and no accidents, either. I better not see any genitalia or I'll have your job."

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
Surprises are so much more fun!!!

:grouphug:

Ahhh the memories... all you Mommies enjoy God's greatest miracle. There is no greater love the day your little blessing is born into the world and you get to hold the angel you helped create. Enjoy this special time! :goodvibes

At least you know he/she is kicking. Being new to the whole pregnancy thing, I had no idea what was going on down there. Eventually I could tell when DS was moving around..he never seemed to quit unless I was standing up. Because of all that movement pre-birth, I was NOT suprised one bit when he continued to do his frantic jigglejigglejiggle post-birth.

Now I feel lucky if I can contain him long enough to feed him and give him a bath. :rotfl2:

TOV

This sounds just like my son. I would be sitting at work saying he moved again, and again and again, and my co-workers would say there is no way that baby is moving and kicking that much!

He's 2.5 now, and they totally believe me now. If he's sitting still we have to poke his to make sure he's still breathing!

It is wonderful--until they do the bladder and cervix dance. Then it's like PLEASE DON'T DO THAT!. :teeth:

::yes:: The only time DS is still is when he's asleep. Even if he's confined in the car seat or his high chair, he's still wiggling and trying to get down so he can go boogie. :dancer:

Me too, TOV...Peanut's most active when I'm sitting. Not so much when I stand. I was wondering if he/she will be this active after birth!

Awww...my son was "Peanut", too, before we knew he was a boy! Congrats to all the mommies-to-be. Pregnancy can be so difficult (esp the beginning and the end!), but the middle is wonderful. There is nothing like feeling the little one kicking. I was pregnant for 18 out of 21 months before my DD2 was born, and I never thought I would say this, but I kind of miss it.

Great...now I want to be pregnant again! :teeth:

I loved my kiddos movin' around in there. I used to play music at night when I was going to sleep just to wake them up and have an hour of movement just me and the baby...

Oh no...now the urgers are even stronger...where is that basal thermometer...and where is DH??? ;)

Congratulations!

Congrats again! Can't wait to meet him or her! And see you and many of these ladies over on our New Moms Board when the time comes!

Hey Vettechick! I get the same thing...if I bend over I feel Peanut telling me to straighten up.

Vettechiclet...now that's funny.
