BABY WATCH 2008 part 1 (SIOH)

My dd's due date was Nov. 7. Then doctor changed it to Oct 16 and told me I should quit work (teacher) as I was 2 cm. I felt good, so kept teaching--sat alot and my kiddos were so good and helpful (small rural school with strong parenting support). Anyway, dd came on Nov. 25. Not much labor, they broke my water and 4 hours later I had a baby. Would have been 3 hours, but she decided to turn herself upside down at the last moment!

ds is adopted from Korea. It was exactly 9 months from the initial paperwork until when he came home at 3 1/2 months. The worst part? Seeing his picture and waiting 2 months for him to come (though that was nothing compared to the wait some people now have); then they put parents off to the side to wait while the babies were brought off the plane. So my photographers and his big sis got to see him first!

AMC is playing Road House right now.

It should be any time now ... I haven't left my desk at work since 10 for fear of missing an update!

Good luck with the baby.
I have some great labor stories.
DS was due May 12 and came on June 11. Dr told me I didn't know how to add. He was big and got stuck. I can laugh about it now but they used forceps and as they pulled on him they pulled me right off of the table. DH had to hold on to me. 26 years later DS has 2 boys of his own. DGS1 I was in VA and had to race home to be there in time. I got there with 15 minutes to spare. DGS2 was premature, DDIL's water broke early and she was on bedrest in hospital for a week. DS just kept telling her to hold off until after the Superbowl. She did and the little guy is now 4.
DD1 I was in the hospital while my OB handled 2 offices and all deliveries because his partner had a heart attack a couple of weeks earlier. He made it in time to perform the emergency c-section. She now has 2 kids of her own and I was thrilled to be in there for the birth of my little princess. DGS was a little early because they were in a car accident that put her in labor. He is now in his terrible 2's.
DD2 was my easiest birth. The alarm clock went off and we went to the hospital for a scheduled c-section. She was beautiful and hairy. She had a thick head of dark hair and a lot of it. She had my DGS 10 months ago. I went to the hospital to wait in the cafeteria with a cup of coffee and the midwife put me to work. I was glad I was there because bubba didn' breathe right away and I was able to keep an eye on him to they got him going.
