Does WDW still do the baby swap? We have never traveled with a toddler before but my grandson will be 2 when we take out next trip. How does the baby swap work?:confused3

WDW does baby swap on certain rides, but you'll actually be surprised how much you're able to that your LO on with you (for example, he can sit in the middle of the car on Toy Story Mania). Check with the cast member at the beginning of the attraction, and they'll be able to tell you if that particular attraction offers rider swap and how it works.

Agree with this^^

There is usually a side room where they have you wait till your guest who can ride comes back. then you go to the next available car. You just switch.

"Baby Swap" or "Rider Switch" as it's officially known, is available only at attractions that have a height requirement. All of those attractions also have FastPass. What you will do is have the entire group approach the CM at the entrance of the attraction (the CM needs to confirm the child is under-height) and say, "We'd like to do a Rider Swap." The CM will give you a ticket that looks like a FastPass, but says, "Rider Switch Pass" on it, along with that day's date. Then, at least one person will have to stay behind with the under-height child - the child is not even allowed into the ride queue. The first group can ride with FastPasses if they have them, or they can ride stand-by. When they exit, the adult who stayed behind and up to 2 additional riders can go through the FastPass line with the Rider Switch Pass. The Switch Pass is good for the entire day so they don't have to ride right away.

The numerous times we have used "baby swap" I have taken the opportunity to take the child to the restroom or change his diaper, or get a snack or to do a favorite attraction nearby that he could ride (i.e., when Daddy and Brother were on Soarin', I'd take him to Living with the Land).

Hope this helps!

Great explanation!! My son will be 11 months when we go in December so this is great to know! Thanks!

This is not how it worked for us on our last trip at all. I think you are thinking of universal. At Disney, the person who is waiting with the baby can wait wherever they want. We would often grab snacks for the rest of the group, or change a diaper, or find a play area. Just depended on how long the others were going to be gone.

Op, you just present yourself at the front of the line and ask tor a rider switch. You have to have the kid that is too small with you when you get the rider swap pass.

This helps allot I will do research on height requirements and which rides do baby swap. Just to give us an idea;)
Thank you again for your help
